@Tim_ when my speedo broke i used an app called speedo or something and put my phone in one of those straps runners wear on their arm. worked a treat
fixed a leaky sump plug, then fixed a hose for the radiator, not leaking coolant anymore. found a crack in the top of the radiator overflow, so going to need to find one. but its right at the top so won't worry for the moment.
this is more what im thinkin @GreyImport .... g surprised you didn't start picking out the fact i haven't cleaned my wheels lol
Not much on my bike, but I helped Robbo with his 1969 Triumph Daytona 500. It had a miss on the right cylinder at low revs. I checked the compressions (150psi in both), valve clearances ok, both plugs firing with good sparks and as it only has single carb I deemed it to be ok. I started it up (first kick too) and it was still missing, but would run clean above 3,000 rpm. On impulse I put the choke on and instantly the right cylinder picked up. Ah ha, and air leak. I took the intake manifold off and found this. Think this could be the problem? I cut two new gaskets, a wipe of sealer and reassembled. Started up and idleing sweetly. Job done, time for a ride.
After putting a new right blinker on for the 25th time I went for a hoon on the Hyo ....... not that hot today but the crosswinds out on the country roads nearly lifted me out of the seat ..... so I went home
Just received a whole wiring harness for 50 bucks!!! Only really bout for the connections but I thought want a bargin
Not my bike again. My Irish mate Sean brought his GSX-R 600 round today to get me to fix another of his f**k ups. He snapped off an 8mm bolt in the top fork clamp and tried to drill it out and had successfully mangled the hole and the broken bit of bolt. I used my left hand drills to carefully get back to centre of the broken piece and was able to 'hook' the broken piece with the drill bit and wind it out (as the drill is turning anticlockwise it will wind the thread 'undone'). Clean up the remaining thread with a tap and using a slightly longer bolt was able to get it tightened properly. He then got another lecture about 'leaving it alone and let me fix it properly'. As a bike mechanic/engineer he makes a good house painter (which is his trade).
So found out yesterday that my zeal is a repairable write off. Gonna buy it back and turn it into a project bike. In other news spotted a 2fifty member this morning like suzuki #plate 529KX
