Christmas is coming, I'll put it to the test while I'm doing nothing, 2 weeks off, can't wait.
While we're back on carbies, My latest nightmare the CB250na 1980 model that wont rev, seems it's the float levels. Non adjustable floats, moulded plastic, got to be in awe of the Jap engineers to be so confident to get that right, which they are.
Anyway we just flexed the floats plastic to get some adjustment & we gained 16mm in the fuel height. We measured the floats off the mating faces before we put them back together & they were about 2mm different to before. so 2mm on the floats gave us 16mm more fuel in the bowls. Too much of course but surprised to see the large effect. Now she revs but only initially. Carbs back out on the weekend to set right to 15.5mm

    G'day all :D

Just spent a very interesting two hours reading this thread!
My 3LN1 has exactly the same problem as Greyimport.
I get chugging on hills and if I don't rev big on pulling away at lights.
I'm also two up with the missus quite often which adds to the revs issue.
I've also had the idle issue where the throttle does fk all!

So I've ordered both carb kits from litetek and I'm wondering if these following parts can / should be used for the 3LN1 and whether after all you guys hard work...It all came down to the float heights and the O ring?

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Carburetor-...pcs-/261789682900?hash=item3cf3e18cd4&vxp=mtr

Also, is it worth getting a set of iridium plugs?

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/NGK-4218-Iridium-Spark-Plugs-CR8EIX-4-PCS-NEW-Made-IN-Japan-/151358313324?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item233da8936c&vxp=mtr

    Thanks guys!

The float needles already come in the main kit if you have ordered those...

    Yes 3LN1 carbs ;)

I've now ordered the Litetek kits and all four repair and parts kits so should be sweet + have some double ups in the rubber department.

There is a guide here for BDST carbs from a 400. Not identical to the 250 but take lots of photos first before pulling apart.
    http://litetek.co/Guide_MikuniBDST_Rebuild.html
You will also find assembly details under each part on my web page.
    cheers

I'm looking forward to hearing your results.
    I've got the same issues.
Talking to the experts up here, even the coating on some needles will give problems if work off.
I'm embarrased to say I have at least one needle in there that has rust pitting on it from sitting in nwater from the previous owners.
I'll be getting those carby kits soon, already got the Litetek kits in her.

Anythings possible, I'm not real sharp on how these sites work, I thinki I might have replied tp a PM ??
The Marlboro is a Chinese kit. I ended up using the front half & re painted the original rear half. The chinese rear end didnt fit & the bit over the tail light was up side down, not funny at the time. Both the kids ride it & looks the part. Oh, & repainted the tank.
She was bought for the kids to learn on along with a NSR 150 & in a year or 2 we'll strip her down & do a full restoration
What about yours, where did the colours come from?

I was led to believe it was a production color but maybe it was a previous owners idea. The color is on the money tho. Bright orange / red and correct logotypes. I'm an ex smoker but I love my Marlboro Fizzer :D
