its going to feel like a different bike mate, will probably pick up some more power too, have you done the floats also?

i remember you saying she had a flat spot in the rev range or was that a different bike?

No it was this one. Without proper measuring tools ( I had an old wooden ruler lol) the float level seemed to be 13ish mms.

    Hey Tyson
That sounded great, you must be pleased. Seemed to idle nicely as well, appears to be the week end for all to get on the road again, hope yong can be included in that group soon. Mind you, not ideal weather on the coast to go riding!

Could well be cal, it kinda fires on full choke then runs for a couple of seconds any touch of throttle it just dies straight away.

So an update guys. Yesterday I had a wiggle of all the leads and contacts around the coils to try and get her back on 4 cylinders and boom all four fired up and it was sounding good.

So I'm like hell yeah going for a burn around the block get down the bottom of my very steep driveway and it dies and won't start :mad:push it back up with a little help from the boss lol. Try and get it to start to no avail, crack the shits and go inside.

Take 2 today get home from work and I'm like traffic was so bad I might try and start the zxr :crazypilot: I turn the fuel tap to prime and walk away for abit, come back and hit the starter boom fires straight away idling really nicely so I pour some fuel from the jerry can in and it was still sounding awesome and revving really clean so I went for a 45 minute tough lap around home ( scared I'd have to push it home lol) and it was running amazingly. WHAT THE ACTUAL ****!! This bike is doing my head in lol

I'm still yet to hit the nail on the head on this one. Went for a ride all was going well and having a hoot and then you guessed it! Bike carked it halfway between home and where I was going haha. I figured out if I primed it and rode with the fuel tap on prime I could get about 1km at a time so I made it home after 5 tries haha. But the last stint it ran perfectly. Any ideas people??

I don't know what sort of disease it is, but all you blokes with four cylinder 250's seem to be catching it. :idk:

    It's a love hate relationship

Check the fuel tank is breathing. I experienced the same problem. Take it for a ride with the cap slightly open/resting on the clip. To clean the breather out you can disassemble the lid. It's pretty simple just DONT DROP THE SMALL MAGNETIC bearings! DEAR GOD i did and they will never be found again haha.

Yea if they are anything like the FZR , watch out for the little bits and take note of how it all goes back together.

Having thought I'd addressed the vacuum hose issue it was almost the last thing I have checked after suffering from fuel starvation. i finally figured out why it ran so well when the tank was fully up and the hoses straight:commando:

What a rookie haha, I am off to get some fuel hose and vacuum hose to replace these and i should be flying again:neo:

I "might" be mobile again! After doing all the vacuum and fuel lines today it ran a dream put it back together and it died haha. Unbolted the tank and surprise it was running again fml! So Kept it running as I put the tank and seat and everything back on it I'm thinking that a hose was getting pinched possibly.

But it's a runner again at least for tough laps of the neibourhood.
