    Turns out it wasn't stripped but a hairline crack in it, I have no idea how it wasn't leaking oil already......

    had been overtightenned in the past,,, could be tig welded so do not throw away.

    Yeah buddy! No more leaks without using sellies :p also it must of needed an oil change its definately riding like almost new again :thumb_ups:

    So after playing up a little for half the day I flicked over to reserve on the way home and boom dead spot gone! I'm gonna have to pull the tank off and do the fuel filter and have a look at the main lines I think.

    drain fuel through layers of old singlet to get crap out and wash filters and blow with compressed air through fuel outlet[reverse to fuel flow].

    Allrighty boys, been busy the last couple of days. I pulled the tank off to check my lines and change the fuel filter, one thing led to another and a had the carbys off haha. Gave them a huge clean following kiffsta's guide (top job kiffsta :thumb_ups:) they were feral, found out its been jetted up in the past running 125 outsides and 128 in the centre I would guess to match the pipe :). Also found the probable source to the smoke you fellas noticed on the ride, oil in the air box from the blow back pipe. How bad is this? The rubber pipe thingo inside the box is cracked I jerry rigged it on there as best I can. I also ran into more trouble with the decelerator cable, I don't know how but now it's too long? I just left it off, what problems can arise? Not expecting too many answers from you guys haha pics will follow.

    cheers Chris :) it must have been stuffed the whole time I've had her probably explains the floating idle and sluggish return to idle lol. I shall have to order one.

    Another question guys. Is it common for a bike to sound way different after cleaning the carbies? I put mine mostly back together (without fairing looking like a streetfighter haha) and took it for a burn and down low in the revs it sounds way deeper in pitch then it used to. :idk:

    Now that its burning fuel instead of old oil probably helps plus its probably running correctly on all cylinders with clean jets etc. thru all the rev range.

    Looks like the carbs needed the once over :D

    After adjusting the pilot screws to 2 and a half turns and reconnecting vacuum hoses :) and i no longer have rust in the tank but the petcock is leaking and also a pin hole leak in the bottom of the tank. im going to hit the tank with sellies nead it steel.

    thanks cal! the idle adjuster shot up to 4k after the tune so i had to turn that way down again should be heaps easier to start and less grumpy haha. it looks like its going to idle on its own again :thumb_ups:
