Its alright GI I do have some spare carbs and a litetek kit :p
however Kiffsta i do have a little project in mind and might grab those carbs ;)

Minor success it revs quite cleanly!

Alrighty this is after a being completely stripped and soaking in acetone, a Litetek kit ) Was already done.
also I swapped over the diaphragms and needles from my original carbs (the needles have little washers)

What do you guys think about the hanging idle? Is it just hanging because of the lack of an air box?? ATM the pilots are set at 2.5 turns should I richen them up as its running lean?

I did notice as i packed up i left the choke spring out DOH! so mazbe that has something to do with it...

Sorry I couldn't start it I fried the battery.... I still cant work out how it fired haha

Guess what! Man does it feel good to go for a ride! My carbies are now sorted :) and the litetek kit fixed my 6-8k bog down. I don't know if it was just because the last couple of burns around the block were on 3 and a half cylinders but my god did it feel quick :dance2::thumb_ups: One happy rider :)

For the most part mate, combination of no airbox, the choke spring and still running on abit of carby cleaner I believe :p it's still a little slow to return to idle so I could have upped the pilots to 2 and 3/4 possibly!

Put the airbox on and run it again, if still the same problem then you might have a vacuum leak/sticky slides or your charging circuit is not working the best.

Let us know how the airbox goes!

Thought I would finally show my parts bike for those playing at home. Obviously I've pilfered afew thing :) it did come with the rest in a box and started and ran but the carbs were in dyer need of a clean and I have since used that set in my runner but this one might end up a street fighter yet :)

    Hi Guys,

As some of you may know I have a parts bike that I scored quite cheaply, it was a runner but I looted it for a couple of things. I have acquired a terrible set of carbs from Tim today and my plan is to Frankenstein my 2 discarded sets of carbs into one good set.
    The 2 sets

    WP_20140426_007.jpg
    WP_20140426_002.jpg
    Damage
    WP_20140426_006.jpg
Anyone have any ideas to get this out? I need this carb damn it!
    WP_20140426_019.jpg
These carbs were butchered, stripped pilot mixture screws WTH! and the main jetting was set left to right
125,128,125,128 LOL how Tims bike even slightly ran with this is beyond me haha
    WP_20140426_014.jpg
They are filthy including 2 completely blocked main jets and look at these float bowls!
    WP_20140426_015.jpg
Here the bike is as stands plus a box of parts.

    Back together again... Ghetto stylez!

I am putting a liner in my yellow tank as it keeps springing pin hole leaks. Lucky I have a spare :thumb_ups:

So the old girl got me too and from work today no dramas :) different fuel filter and trimmed the fuel line to increase flow as it seemed the carbs were emptying faster then they were filling and 100+ down the freeway. Sat on $1.20 for 15kms and no cough :)

It is still returning to idle really slowly so I do have to remove carbs and back the pilot screws out another 1/4 turn then it should be golden!

Well once I derust and line the yellow tank lol;)

Who's up for a ride?? Cricket seasons basically over!

This morning I looked into why I always slide forward on my seat. My rear spring was set to the strongest setting lol

To adjust all you need is wd40 a bike stand (just makes things easier) and
    image.jpg
One of these I think it's called a c wrench (pirate hook)

Just place on your spring step nut (adjuster) like so...
    image.jpg

And apply clockwise pressure (less then you'd think).

Mine is set to 4 now as I'm a little heavy haha but now as I sit on it the forks and rear go down level so I reckon it's closer to right also it doesn't lean as much on the side stand now it's not jacked right up :thumb_ups:

    Cheers

Just an update after being on the road again......

After a tank of fuel I did 231km from 13.6 litres so 5.8 litres per 100km I think I can make that better after some tinkering.

How does this compare with you fellow inline 4 guys?
