Full aluminium exhaust! Well I never knew that. How thick do you think the header is @Th3_Huntsman ? So with a 2mm wall it would weigh the same as a 0.66 steel wall. It can't be that simple or everyone would be doing it.
Nope side stand spring is stiff like piece of hardwood. No sag whats so ever it's not a hard stop or anything it just switches off almost as if the on/off switch was hit :/
check wiring inside headlight, on /off kill switch and where wiring goes around front of frame for rub throughs.
@Grasshopper is here and we pulled the battery from the trumpy, it's a motobatt and was reading 3.6v! Now on the charge. Rear seat lock is jammed, had to pull that to bits. As soon as the battery is ready it'll be loaded onto the trailer
After running my fingers across my rear brake disc and found this.. Those are not heat marks they are actually grooves and raises...
Mine are like that to, bike will be off the the mechanic for a service monday arvo, with new discs & pads
didnt check the thickness... but there were no use when breaking.. but new disc is in and new brake mount
Fitted the replacement speedo on Scarlet. Will take her for a test run tomorrow with the GPS to see how it goes
got the broken ignition switch housing off the hornet. took the bars then top member off and put the top member in the vice and used a thin metal cutting blade in the angle grinder. put a straight cut through the security screws and undid the security screws.
So the fork seal i replaced a month or so back has gone again, what the hell, i avoid pot holes, go gently into driveways and defiantly don't have enough grunt for wheelies. there wasn't any noticeable marks on the fork either when i have it off
Sometimes the seal wont 'seal' if the fork surface is too shiney (this used to be a real problem with older BMW's). I usually give the legs a light rub with 800 or 1000 wet n dry in a 'round the leg' fashion to put a kind of crosshatch on the surface similar to what you do with the bore of an engine. This will give the seal something to 'bite' into and hopefully seal.
Flushed coolant out out in water for race meet check nuts and bolts fairing back in mounted my new optimate 2 charger to battery for race and track days race numbers moved on front nearly ready for fri
think I found my rub through 350mls as it states in the specs sheet It did seal for about just over a month. Currently removing to check the fork more thoroughly for any gaugings/ scoring etc. Going to my local bearing place to get a new seal and also those 4 orings i need for my carbie tomorrow.
These are some pics of my fork that's killed it's seal can anyone spot anything of major concern and a solution please. you can clearly see how far the fork goes down to.
