Confirmed with a neighbour that it was already knocked over this morning, by the storm most likely... sucks...
The streets of Zetland were designed for people , horses and the paperboy . And if wind can blow over a nearly 1000cc motorcycle then I wont eat my hat .... Ill eat my helmet I was running short of bikes to fix anyway
There's no mechanical damage other than a flat battery & an electrical problem that caused it... I can't seem to turn the seat lock though, can't charge the battery at the moment
my new bars arrived for the little ninja and i bought more fiberglass to repair the damaged race glass.........fun....
Never known of an aluminium that could withstand the heat of the exhaust gasses close to the engine. An aluminium muffler yes. Also know of aluminium coated steel exhaust pipe.
Definitely look like alloy welds on those pipes, so must be an alloy of some kind. How much do they weigh compared to steel pipes?
For a while now my bike has been playing silly buggers after you do about 140km.. once the trip meter ticked over between 140-160 the bike would struggle then just run out of fuel... i would have to pull over and play with the fuel tap.. let the carbs fill back up with fuel and she would start again and run fine......... and today i noticed a fuel leak again around the tap.. so i swapped taps to see if that was the problem.... Also check the intank filter and the bottom half was covered in crud.. so not to run a tank a fuel through it and see if the problem is fixed
I rode a CBR250RR today. It was very ratty, hard to shift, and the fairings dug into my knees. Not the most shining example. I loved the sound and the performance though. I reckon I'll be keeping the Ninja though, much easier & more comfortable to ride. May hold out for the new ZX-2R and see what happens with that
That's right, it's a big difference riding an older bike unless it's been gone through thoroughly.....
Mate how tall are you? I'm 6'1" and my knees dont touch the plastics at all... Ratty how? hard to shift could be a multitude of different issues.. comes down to how the bike was maintained...
176cm last time I checked Just felt like lack of maintenance (it hadn't been serviced in 13,000KM) The clutch felt awful when changing gears, really clunky and hard. Maybe I'm just used to my ninja. Left handlebar was bent or the whole front end was out, as well. The engine felt lovely though, no flat spots or other weird issues like that
