There are some good places to ride around here, especially if you can get out in the daytime while everyones at work and the roos and possums are quiet!
Still I get to ride military rd (probably worst traffic in Sydney?) and the harbour bridge to work most often so it balances out ;)

I think I might go for a run up the old road today.... loverly day for it!

Only ridden in Sydney on one weekend so far, it really made me appreciate Canberra's lack of traffic :lolsign:

It was Saturday evening and Sunday lunchtime in St. Peters and Newtown though.

I don't normally drive in Sydney without a GPS and had nowhere to put it on the bike I was on, so I went past the place I was looking for and ended up in the city by mistake on Saturday evening! :idk:

Have you been to the Rising Sun Workshop in Newtown? That's where I was going that weekend before meeting friends for a party. They have a community motorcycle workshop, noodle bar and cafe. Their ramen is great after a long ride! :D

Personally I'd buy the tool as it will make the job easier. They're normally expensive, but can be sold on eBay after you use it. If you're going to all the trouble you might as well do it right.

So after @ruckusman kindly explained shims to me the other day, I actually rtfm...
Apparently I need 3 special tools for the job, cam lifter, valve wrench and adjuster thingamijg
Has anyone done this before and might even have said tools in their kit? waiting for the honda dealer to get back to me on these, no idea how pricey these things are or how long it takes to get them in.

Just found them too. I saw some "stories of bike" clips at the Throttle Roll event recently - think this is the same place. Great idea!

Update on the valve clearance job... Honda Australia don't have any camshaft lifters in stock and if they did they'd be $320ish, as if that wasn't enough the valve adjust wrench doesn't exist anymore and hasn't been superseded by another part - just can't have one. So this is fun...

Yeah not quite that cheap! I saw one that's pretty much identical to mine on Gumtree at the moment for $1800 unregistered. Same colour too. If I had that I'd buy it as a spares bike...
