Yea its ingrained in the metal .... as long as I can get the site glass clean ..... otherwise Ill just take it off and give it the once over.
Yea might be the go Fred .... theres bound to be junk down in the workings it needs to come off as its a pain to clean it on the bar
i used the ultrasonic cleaner on the caliper of my cb-rs cuz it was really, really dirty and it came out with the inside as clean and debris free as a chipmunks nest in the spring
forget to mention : make sure all the water is gone because the brake-fluid doesn't like it much. pre-heat your oven for a lasagna or pizza put the parts on a tray, leave them in for about 5 minutes, replace with food and hopla two tasks done in one go
Sounds practicle to me. I did two chains in the Duckhams grease on the stove, then cooked my dinner yesterday.
I have 2 3ln3 front MC (and a BRAND new resivior, that cost me $34) if you need it. However one if not both MC will need a rebuild.
Thanx mate ...... hopefully this one will be ok with a clean out I think its a ring in anyway ..... 3LN1 has the box type combined master and reservoir ..... later models have the separate plastic reservoir ..... this one matches neither. Heres todays progress ..... just needs the EXUP rebuilt and adjusted and the headers fitted and it can be fired up. Front and rear brakes to be sorted and new sprockets and chain needed. Oil and filter change to come also.
Seeing the Fizzer like that turned my crappy day into a happy day... thanks Grey.. (hey that rhymes..)
We now have front brake On to the rear and its 3 steps forward and 2 back ..... New bearings , seals and sprocket ..... Front sprockets ..... 3LN3 shaft 3LN1 shaft we are ............ shafted!
I've seen sprockets like that before both on an across motor, I think they still may work. @kiffsta Im not sure how dodgy it is though.
The nut is restricted by the splines .... anything other than the correct sprocket would be dodgy to the extreme , especially in such a high load area
