Okay, I will be on the mainland for the next TDRA event (15/16 March 2025). And, since the recent HPR Bike Mayhem meeting was rained out, I'll be keen to have a run 'somewhere' before I head back over Bass Straight. As always, the weather will be a deciding factor in my decision to attend, but at this stage I am 95% coming to this meeting and I will be bringing the ZXR (wheezy engine and all) in another attempt to run an 8-something at Gunnedah.

Who else from Team 2fiftycc is likely to attend? @Linkin @GreyImport @Murdo

I was working on the trailer and the bike (FZR400) today!

My attendance will depend on if the bike will actually do a drag run up my street and back, and my health

The weather here this week has cooled down from the 35+ thats been the norm, so hopefully that trend continues

Frank Ill message u in the near future about a few "things" :D

Pete and I will be non starters. Mason may be interested but will depend on his work.

That's a shame, but I understand. There's no point in Mason coming along if the rest of the team isn't in attendance. $230 is a big ask these days.

I will wait until @GreyImport (and Adrian) lets me know what's happening. It's an expensive exercise to come up, so I can wait until the May meeting if that's better.

I raced at Ironbark Raceway (Roma, Queensland) last year. It's a proper fulltime drag strip (1/8 mile). I can't recall exactly what I paid to race, but here's the costs for the recent Australia Day meeting...

    upload_2025-2-19_13-4-29.png

I understand it costs money to put an event on, but $230 (for motorbikes) seems really excessive to me. This is Ironbark Raceway; it's not a goat track & it has a concrete launch pad.

    upload_2025-2-19_13-6-52.png

It would cost me $250 to race at Warwick Dragway this weekend for a 2-day meeting. But, this is a full race meeting with prize money and nitro funny cars running as well.

Can't. Going to court on that day because seatbelt cameras caught my wife who was sleeping in the passenger seat with the seat belt under her left arm. Happened on 31st Jan so double demerits - 6 points!

Well, since it's looking less likely that there will be any 'Team 2fiftycc' bikes at the Gunnedah March 2025 event, I thought it might be a good opportunity for me to do some long overdue work on the ZXR.

    Engine out.JPG

    In no particular order...

Change clutch plates back to non-crap ones (@Linkin to recommend replacements)
    Change oil and oil filter
    Change plugs
    Fix weeping front forks
Reinstall Stator and charging system (@jmw76 helping with)
Reinstall Quick Shifter and test (@jmw76 helping with)
Refresh and re-route wiring loom (@jmw76 helping with)
Replace front brake Lever/Hydraulic Master Cylinder/Hose
Reroute fuel supply from custom tank
Make a custom support for the exhaust
    Clean chain and sprockets
    Check valve clearances
Clean carbs and check they are working properly
    Check starter motor working freely
    Repair some plastic damage
Build custom dash and front clip subframe
Weigh the bike to check front/rear weight distribution
Probably a few other little issues along the way

I'm hoping not to have to do any major engine work (new rings etc) until I have a ZXR250C race bike ready to run. Hopefully, the old girl will look like her old self soon.

Well, I won't make it to this weekend's racing. Hopefully, some of us from Team 2fiftycc will make it to the next round; although, my ZXR is in a no shape to race. I may have to bring the Spada back up from TAS. It was nice of the TDRA to put it on their advertising for this weekend's event...

Next TDRA meeting is 10th/11th May 2025. Any Team 2fiftycc members thinking of attending? It will be a rush for me to get the ZXR ready (& tested) before attending, so I am currently not looking too hopeful.

I will hang on to it for a while as the grandson is talking about going to Warwick for a track day, and my Irish mate is always chewing my ear about going back again.

Well, I guess that's it for me too. No point driving all that way if I'm the only member of Team 2fiftycc. I'm not sure what the Chief or @Linkin are planning, but at this stage I'm out. I do want to take my ZXR250 to a TDRA event once I have it fully sorted, so I will plan one last visit in the future. I want to run an '8' before calling time on the TDRA events. Having run 8.95 at Roma gives me hope of doing the same (or better) at Gunnedah.

It is VERY expensive for what it is, so I fully understand. I might do one meeting a year on my way to QLD for some other events. It's not worth it for me to come up just to race at Gunnedah.
