Gearing and tyre / wheel size is really interesting.. I am going through that now with my SRX250.. the original 51Y with 16" rear ran a 14t / 43T setup where the later 3WP with 17" rear runs 17T / 50T. I also know of someone who used a FZR250 swingers in his SRX250 and using a 14T / 45T setup with a slightly wider tyre on the 17" rear he had issues with the chain slider mainly on full droop suspension travel. So I am now on the hunt for a 17T / 50T combo for mine. Gearing Commander site is great... the SRX250 isn't in the database but I have all the relevant info and I can play with different rear sprockets and / or tyre sizes to get what I want.
You can have the SRX250 put in to their database, you just need to fill out the form and submit it with any link's to bike spec's I have had a couple of bike's added there, it takes's about a week to 10 day's to be checked and listed
Thanks guys! So we got her running and it was great when I was funneling fuel into it Ran great no issues But then when we tested it with the fuel pump it would barely idle and couldn't rev My guess is cos of that old rusty fooked tank it has clogged up the pump Anyone know if you can clean these ? Or do I have to get a new one ?:/ and if so where from ? Thanks heaps ! Your all legends !
Site sponsor's ? Ebay, or Aliexpress these are used on a few Yamaha's, but check the fuel pump spec's in the service manual - http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/8mm-Fuel...007488?hash=item5b28d40500:g:lcoAAOSwdzVXp8JF http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Electric...1e1a86&pid=100010&rk=7&rkt=18&sd=391527007488
Was this running the fuel directly from the tank to the pump ? Or was there a fuel tap in between? ( which could be blocked with crap ) And was there a fuel filter anywhere ? ..... which stops crud getting into the fuel pump ?? .... and the carbys ! And the tank should also have internal filters
test with everything connected as is currently, i.e fuel pump etc Now start with the fuel pump connected then disconnect power from the pump - approx 60 later seconds it may improve, which means the fuel height is too high with the fuel pump pressure been there done that...
