Hey guys Me and mate just went halves in a fzr 200 bucks each for a complete running bike Everything's there but needs to be painted so was wondering if anyone's selling a full ser of 2kr fairings? And also just anything we should know about this beast cheers! Inb4 yes we know the carbs suck to get right haha
Get rid of it while u still have your sanity complete running bike and FZR250 are never used in the same sentence You wont get a set of fairings in good order unless u buy aftermarket ones which will cost more than u paid for the bike https://www.aliexpress.com/af/fzr25...50&SearchText=fzr250+2kr+bodywork&blanktest=0 It wont be an 89 ..... that was the first 3LN Look up the engine number here http://2fiftycc.com/index.php?threa...0-3ln-bodywork-frame-engine-carburetors.3469/
Grey my good man you do sound decidedly jaded by your experiences. I too know that feeling all too well...
These look like 2KR bodywork and tank http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/morayfield/motorcycles/fzr-250-yamaha-learner-projects/1125392603
They BDS26 aren't as involved as a 3LN carby, remove jet's and clean, remove top cap and slide/needle etc and check for wear. remove emulsion tube , clean and check for wear etc Remove mixture screw, spring, washer and seal and blow the port out well, check the hole at the bottom of the thread's is open to the main bore of the carby. Poke some fishing line through any hole's to check for dried fuel, gum/varnish etc Check all hole's at the bottom of the thread's where the jet's screw into are open and you can feel air come out when blowing the carby out Do all hole's/port's,
Have you tried the resource area, service manual ? Not sure if there's anything on the Litetek site ?
I haven't found the float height as of yet though : / Had a look through some older posts of someone with the same bike looking for float heights and it just confused me haha :/ just need to know which way to sit them and what height to set me at
Since there downdraft would 11mm be good? And if so which way do I sit the carbs when setting height ?
Thanks man but that says the fuel level I need to know what mm to set the float height to to get that ?
if you keep the needle valves and floats together with their respective carbs it should be a case of checking what you have first, then checking the fuel level -> then adjusting the float height if necessary resist the temptation to fix something when it's not broken you may end up going round in circles
I understand bit i have taken them entirely apart and cleaned them If they are perfect height still I will honestly **** a brick hahaha
these threads will show you the tech for float measurement and fuel height - check both before changing anything to avoid the fun that we've all had constantly removing and adjusting carburetors, again and again and again http://2fiftycc.com/index.php?threads/my-fizzer.872/page-32#post-15537 http://2fiftycc.com/index.php?threads/questions-about-carburetors-yamaha-zeal-250-fzx-250.2141/
Hey guys thanks for all the help but I'm just not sure as those carbs are different then mine , this have a square plastic looking floar height and the carbs I have have a circular rubber like float , should I still follow the 16mm thread or not ?:/
This is a photo from the Internet and it's hard to see but those floats are the ones in the carbs I have
