    The K&N stuff is really thick grease and is a pain to squeeze out of the tube. That blue stuff in your photo looks like standard lithium/bearing grease which won't do the job.

    One advantage of hours of "checking over" a second hand bike is finding some real shite
    I noticed the bars had been "moved" or not reset correctly
    And when loosening the bolts to correct them , one of the larger bolts was about 2Nm tight
    Why am I not surprised

    People always get handlebar clamps wrong. Often the clamps have a closed end which should be tightened first, and an open end tightened last. No matter whether the open or closed end is forward or rear, they should always be tightened closed end first and open end last.

    I get so many bikes in the workshop where people have stuffed around with their handlebars and gotten it wrong - from clamps in mismatched directions, tightened incorrectly, outright loose, clamps twisted on the top clamp (for rubber mounted stuff this is really common), handlebars off centre or tilted too far in either direction. I don't know how people either don't notice it or don't care.

    The fuel tank has these rubber covers stuck on with glue .... they pretty much fell off when I removed the 300 plastic trims and pulled the tank
    Im not bothering putting them back on but theres alot of glue residue left on the tank
    Whats best to remove it? .... it looks to be normal paintwork underneath so Ill just polish it up afterwards
    Caramel wheel just turned it to goo

    I normally use De-Solv-it glue & sticky spot remover. You can get it from Bunnings and they also have the Diggers stuff for more serious jobs...

    Other side might be a bit easier. The heat from the caramel wheel would have made the glue on the section you just did harder to clean off. Shame you couldn't get the Diggers stuff, but de-solv-it seems to have done a good job. It will definitely look like a new bike when you're finished.

    You can get HEMA Maps for a Garmin GPS... I guess it all depends on how "lost" you want to get when you go offroad :confused:
    Those "Old School" items are a bit of a pain to read at speed on a bike :prankster:
