    With the stalling problem.
Its improved abit. but it still does it SOMETIMES...

Would it be posible that its because of the choke being on when its off? as in its pulling some how? maybe?

lol, no it's just running the japan stock standard for an FZR. Smaller main jets will fix it (It's what I have apparently.. NEVER bogs down. I even have the idle mixture screws at 3.5 turns) And lowering the needle one notch REALLY helps. You'll find you have no power after 14.5krpm though. No big deal.

Another thing to do is rev it while you're sitting still. It cleans the plugs. You mentioned it blew smoke then ran better - that was more than likely the excess fuel burning off while you were revving the bike. Clean plugs = better performance.

Tell me: Does it -need- choke to start?

If anything I would be leaning out the idle mixture screws a bit, sync. and see if it improves. I was playing with my idle mixture screws on the weekend and found if it was too rich it would just die in the arse as soon as it came off the idle circuit.

once it starts and i give it abit of a rev. it holds well..
i never use my choke. ever.

i let a mechanic ride my bike. they told me it is prolly jsut the float hieght or whatever u call it.
but i'll play with the screw first. as it IS runnign rich. 160 full tank including researve.

when i prk my bike. i hear my tank making noise. as if its sucking in air. so maybe when i leave it over night the fuel leaks in~

Trust me, if the bike is sucking in fuel when parked, you'll notice it fast, when your starter motor stops mid-spin! (Big "Cha-chunk" noise)

If no choke is needed, it's running rich. Lower the floats a little or adjust the mixture screws (screwing them in makes it leaner). Try about a half-turn in. The economy also suggests its not just the idle mixture though. Like i said, try lowering the floats a tad.

My bike takes a teeny bit of choke to start. It can almost start without choke but dies after it fires.

If I use the choke to start mine it goes fine, but if you ever touch the throttle with the choke on it will just die hard. If I try to grab the throttle when I start it without choke, it usually dies on me too. Very touchy.

Today I had the mixture screws out too far, and wow it really changes the bike's behaviour! Bogging down (nearly stalling) when stopping, and I had to rev it double to take off smoothly. It'd be really sluggish to take off then it'd kick hard. Could feel the back tyre slipping as it kicked. Not very nice. It was even harder to start.

Same If I touch my throttle when the choke is on the bike will diy but when I ride it then stop and start it about 30mins later the bike will only start with the throttle 2mm open

I usually start my bike with no choke and tiny amount of throttle and then give it a blip and on with the choke tweaking till it smoothes out, then no throttle till it has warmed up a bit.

A great post I found over at OCAU about basic principles of carb tuning. Not all of this applies to the fizzer though. Thanks goes to Fwoar.

I got 4 spark plugs at Bursons $4 each - Repco $4.35 - Bike shop across the road wanted $10 each - exact same plugs CR8E - Beware.
They might have filters too. The no's are on this site somewhere.

    It pays to shop around

Try AUTOBARN, REPCO or SUPERCHEAP or any one that sells generic car parts. You must have one of them near you somewhere in SYDNEY
