Yep, just in the bag. It worked ok, just made a massive mess (literally sand everywhere) and used quite a bit of sand for the results. I probably won’t do enough to bother building a vertical feed, yet But it is good to have the pic of yours. Smaller stuff I will probably get aqua-blasted on this bike. Sold the Marauder yesterday. It cost a lot more than I got, let alone the time I put in. But it won't cost me any more time or money. But, after talking to "my financial adviser" (I'm single, so not wife/girlfriend, it's a friend who is a financial adviser and decided they wanted to help out), I'm too broke to have all my bikes, particularly not registered. So, do I register the zxr or Across? Zxr is the bike I bought for me, but the Across is very practical with the front storage... I'm going to have to make a rear box for the zxr, it seems. But what about the DR350? Or the WR250F?... I might be a wealthy person, trapped in the body of a poor person!
Keep the ZXR - genuine ventura racks are available, I have one on mine. Better suspension and sportier. The across is cool for storage, but heavier, only has 2 twin throat carbs and so on.
I know where you are coming from... more from the frustration of which bike to work on... which bike to sell (not the financial one, but I have been there too) and basically I made the decision to only have 2 bikes.. the one I want to keep for me (in my case the CB400F) and a project bike that you may or may not keep.. (the SRX250 3WP). I was much happier and more focused once I got rid of the other 3 bikes.. and I had a lot more room as I dont have to move bikes around to work on them. Just my 2 cents worth
The zxr would sell for more money, but I'd always regret it, even though I wouldn't be any happier if I keep it. Sometimes it is just the idea of the bike, rather than the actual bike, that captivates me. Curse you, envy! I better start on the zxr tomorrow. And the ute can go on the market, too.
Finished my countershaft sprocket holding tool so I could undo the nut, which I did. Only took a breaker bar and a 4' length of pipe.
all the shed portals up and 10 lengths of c section used in sidewall bracing. run out of steel so off on monday to buy 12 more lengths. that will finish the sides for cladding.all to protect bikes.
Get your Box Brownie and take some pics, get the chemist to develope them and them post the pics to Grey and he can load them onto the site for you.
Going to look at a 3LN1 this evening. Looks completely original though only 2 photos... missing the 'bum piece' on the rear fairing. Supposedly only 20k km's on it.
That will be interesting.. I wonder if it is 20,000km over the original 100K Good luck with it... hopefully it is as they say and you get a good deal on it.. Drag bike perhaps??
Cracked open the ZXR250 engine, it's valves' time. 13 out of 16 were off specs. Quite nerve wrecking but pushing thru thanks to a friends expertise.
If you're doing that many, do all the valves and set the clearances at the upper spec... it will run SO much better.
