Cheers Fox, well my wife decided Friday night we should head to the Sunny Coast for the weekend , I was kind of like a bear with a sore paw as I wanted to take the Cibby for a run, my wife being the good lawyer that she is, suggested I ride up and her and the kids would follow in the car. Suffice to say Saturday morning I donned my riding gear and we set off. It was a fairly uneventful ride with me getting used to the bike again, quick top at Caboolture for a feed and back on the highway, what I did notice was the rear brake is slightly dragging of the disk, apart from that she was all good. This morning, Phil and I made a race stand out of concrete blocks and confirmed the brake disk is ever so slightly warped on the inside of the disk, its a shame as its 5.2m thick and in excellent nick.

Heading home was fun, I ran out of fuel doing 110 on the highway, I flicked over to reserve and nothing happened, I coasted to a stop and eventually after 5 min she started on reserve. Might have to have a good look at the petcock.

There is something about these Cibbys, so much fun to ride

For us, it is always a treat to have the family come up for a week end. This doesn't happen often enough but alas with 2 kids, parents become glorified cab drivers and run from sport ground to sport ground, I get tired watching it!

Was a tad surprised to hear the sound of a motorcycle pull into the garage, and there was Chris? followed by the family. The customary sharing of Bourbon ensued followed by food, Bloody good Saturday night.

Sunday we checked the rear brake, the disc looks near new yet appears to have a slight warp which in turn causes a very slight drag, shame really!

I took for a quick ride, opened her up a little and was blown away how good this CBR really is. Of all the bikes we've bought and played with over the years, this one stands out as the best.
Considering we simply changed the oil, change a blown fuse and fitted a new battery, this bike performs so well considering it's vintage. If I were in the market for one, I'd buy this one.

Well, as Chris put it, good way to scrub the new Pirelli's in and blow a few cobwebs out, I concur.

It was a very good week end.:thumb_ups:

Are you able to machine the disc?

I honestly think you guys don't need to comment on how good the bike is, you can clearly see it in the pictures. As you said Phil, it's not often you See a bike of this vintage in this condition. And when you those two come together, it sells itself.

It's been well cared for during its lifetime. And it's a damn good pickup.

I'm not a CBR 250 fan. I don't like the look of them. But this bike is certainly an exeception to that thought.

Fun to ride and one of the best sounding bikes on the road I reckon.
