Howdy, I was browsing Gumtree last week and spotted a MC22 in Brisbane as an unfinished project, I dropped by for a quick look and it was very clean but didn't run. The seller did drop his asking price by a 1/3 as he was leaving the country shortly. Not hearing it run I thought, hmmmm what's wrong with it, I decided to sleep on it. On Friday the seller texted me to say he had charged the battery and she still wouldn't fire up. I made him an offer and he accepted. So Phil and I went out and picked it up this morning, I had a good feeling about it so when we got her home I poured about 5 l of fuel in the tank and hooked up the jump pack, nadda, nuffin... no lights no disco. Phil said it must be a fuse, so we pulled the main fuse and it was blown, I grabbed a 30 amp spare and popped it in, I also grabbed my spare battery off my track bike and popped her in, I then tuned the petcock on and hit the starter, it took a minute or so and she started up, the exhaust didn't smell good at all ( old fuel) , but after 5 mins of running she started to come good. It had a factory pipe on her that has been drilled out and sounded like a F1 car (from last year) so I fitted a spare that I had here. When I blipped the throttle she would stall so we left her running for a bit more and I then thought bugger it, I will run her up the street, as I was pulling away she backfired , clearing whatever was the blockage and she opened up nicely. I bought some new oil and Phil and I did a quick oil change and fitted a stock exhaust , its very clean for a 20+ year old bike, The tank cover needs some paint and the rear brake is slightly dragging, one mirror is a tad loose but all in all she is a nice little bike. Not much needed for rego well here she is
And the smart arse called me and rubbed in the steal of a bike it was!!!!! lol.. still amazing find mate kudos..
................ If you could start the bike over the net you would... Wouldnt you Chris... Wouldnt you...
