    Proud new owner of a happy mc22. Somehow, the off/run switch on my bike is reversed, with "off" being run, and run being "off".

    I'd like to change it to normal. I traced the wires back to a plug, and swapped what I thought would be the two wires necessary. But it had no effect? Perhaps I managed to bypass it entirely.

    I've found the lovely coloured wiring diagram, but can't figure out what I need to do to make the change. Relevant part is uploaded.

    To make it a little more challenging, my wiring seems to have been redone, but with courteous inclusion of the original colouring in lengths (maybe?). See attached 3 pin kill switch next to the 2 pin starter button.

    If anyone can let me know what I need to switch to make "off" off and "run" run, please let me know. Either on the wiring diagram for me to map to my wiring, or straight up.
    Cheers from Perth.

    Did it change suddenly? Impossible!

    It's simple SPST switch:
    OFF = no contact between blk & blk/gry
    ON = yes contact between blk & blk/gry

    Doesn't matter which order wires are connected. Can't reverse them, doesn't matter. What matters is yes/no connections.

    Modified wiring shows someone spliced in non-factory switch. Only way to reverse is to clip off connector and re-install factory connector and switch. Pull out meter and measure on/off contact positions beforehand to verify

    wait, why are THREE wires on kill switch? Should
    be only TWO! Seems someone wired in SPDT switch in place of factory SPST.

    trace where each of connectors wires connect at other end:

    BLK/WHT -> ???
    GRN -> ???
    BLK/YEL -> ???

    Do you have multimeter and know how to use it to measure voltage and resistance (ohms)? This is 5-minute fix with multimeter, or less...

    Kill switch has the start button as well, thus more than 2 wires. @mc22er The issue might be that the previous owner installed a kill switch for a different model. Honda changed the wiring (and plugs) of both switches late 1996, for the Australian delivered model. Some people install the switch of the JDM on the ADM bike, and vice versa.
    But if you ask me, having the kill switch inverted would be a great theft deterrent...

    heh, heh... confuse those darn low-lifes!!

    Pretty sure start button is leaving on separate 2-wire connector with yel/red & blk wires.

    Odd thing about having 3 wires where there was only 2 in factory configuration is...

    Where did 3rd wire come from?
    Where does it go?
    What does it do???

    Thanks for the useful comments, I bought a replacement kill switch from xcitebikes and installed, fixed the issue. Must have been an aftermarket for the wrong model. Cheers for the help!
