How to bleed front brake

    Sorry guys another question can i bleed one caliper at a time or do i have to bleed both at same time. I just swapout the old forks put the brakes bake on pumped them a few times and now i brake drag and the front braks lever is really soft and spongey.

    i did my zxr calipers one at a time, they turned out swell ;)

    Sounds like you have air in the line. Do one at a time, bleed them until there are no bubbles left in the line, then do the other. When you have completed this task you should have a firm brake lever, if still spongy then grab a cable tie and strap the brake lever in tight and leave it over night. Next morning you should be in a good place. :thumb_ups:

    thanks guys ill give it a go tomorrow think iwas rushing abit had a perfict day to test out the new jets and we dont get many down hear :lolsign:

    research reverse bleeding on google and youtube - it's an easier way then pushing air bubbles against gravity

    try to tie the brake lever in over nite. could reverse bleed back into master cylinder.when i did it on the hondasaw bubbles straight away.

    i bleed the brakes still the same i did it with the master cylynder cap of is that the right way or do i leave cap on

    stupid question, but, when you were bleeding fluid through the nipples, did you finish off by holding the lever in, THEN closing the nipple, while the reseviour caps off?. then pump the lever about 50 times and it should get firmer and firmer, top up the master again, then open the nipple again ever so slightly and see if there anymore air in the lines.

    - to ensure minimal air traps in the caliper journals, it can help sometimes to get a syringe and prime the calipers, the bolt on the banjo.... - an odd method, but it has worked for me before

    if all else fails, go buy a proper vacuum bleeder from Repco, expect to slay $100 though :(

    i do close of the valve and hold in lever but ionly pump 2 times then hold and bleed so ill try pumping it more

    i had similar trouble on the old honda.2 bleed holes in the master cylinder... make sure they are clear then cable tie the lever on and bubbles will come back to master cylinder/also if the piston are pushed out lever them back in and air should be forced out of the caliper. are the pistons seized?

    thanks for info guys nothings working i pulled of calipers checked pistons all working put itall back togeather no brake drag know and calipers work fine lever springs back aswell but have no brake pressure brakes arnt grabing

    Try reverse bleeding with a large syringe from a chemist. Fill syringe and with a short bit of plastic hose push fluid from bleeder nipple back up into master cylinder.

    ithink it might be master cylinde just whent to try thezip tie trick pumped it afew times and ziptied lever and checkad MC cap and had brake fluid leaking out so cleand it and ill check in the morning two nice days gone rain for the next three tassi sucks

    Is it brand new fluid and new fluid every time you add while bleeding and topping up?

    Also when u tie back the lever make sure the bars are turned so the MC is 'level' and its not overfull.

    yes or even lower. as the lever is pulled in and out the fluid tends to spill over top.keep the m/c holes covered. when i tied the hond,s lever in bubbles started to come out of one of the holes. left a day or so and fantastic brakes.
