Last time I looked the cam chain tensioner cross referenced to pregen Ninja 250 here stateside. If the chains good, the tensioner is cake.

It's a Honda 250GP tail from 2004-2005 model. Airtech Streamlining makes them. You have to make a new subframe for it to fit though.

Here's a couple shots of the subframe made for the tail. Everything tucks inside the frame to protect it from inevitable race crashes.

I'm not a fan of the black painted frame. I may have the subframe and chassis sandblasted then clear coated in a clear powder. It's not a priority right now so I'm going to race it as it sits. I'm just blacking out the tail and fender then I've finished the tank in a clear after stripping the paint and using a 60 grit sandpaper on my orbital sander on the lowest speed setting.

Here's the tank currently. I had some extra Hydroturf pads to cut up for traction that I slapped on. Everything done right now on the cheap since money is going to parts to make the bike run better.

If that's the case I can buy the APE manual tensioner. Much more reliable.

I'll double check when I get home. I've found Megazip invaluable for part numbers. They're great about cross referencing parts and if you see them in a US warehouse you can order them from your local guy.

Ok so I'd be happy to sign up as a premium member but I can't find the page on here to join up. Anyone know where the registration for premium is located?

Yeah, that 6 bucks or whatever it converted to in USD was the best money i've spent in the last 6 months. Been a lifesaver when it came to finding parts- and i've needed a lot.

Yes this is great. Thank you to whoever loaded all those pages for us to download. I needed those OEM part numbers for sure.

The other thing I was trying to understand was the vacuum valve that plugs into the airbox. The previous owner was saying the bike only runs good with it installed. From my understanding that valve has to do with emissions and doesn't really affect the tune of the bike. It's there to force more air through the exhaust system for cleaner emissions. If I'm wrong someone let me know. I don't see the point of having the extra parts under the tank since I'm racing the bike.

Im not running mine. I was told to run it like a ZXR250A and remove it.

Of course, mine doesn't run right, so what do I know from anything? Mine's sitting under my workbench though.
