I know this is probably a really stupid question but here goes.
What would be the best fuel to put into the bike & do I have to put some additives into the fuel???

anything except e10 and maybe a dash of auto tranny fluid or valve saver.

Hi Sue, not a silly question at all. Please don't be afraid to ask any questions at all , you want have any issues with smart reply's from this forum. The owners manual reads it is Regular fuel , but the Japanese have been using hardened valves and seats feels like forever so any good quality fuel. I'll be using the 98 octane when my engine gets rebuilt and as Risky has mentioned some valve saver as i already have a container of the stuff in the shed after the last bike which was a 1975 Model and was needed. As Risky has mentioned stay away from using E10 ,as there are still issues with this fuel with our old bikes.

Definately NO E10. I run 95 in all my vehicles to get away from Ethanol. Ethanol will effect some of the rubbers in carbs and fuel pumps (make them swell up or crumble).
The Japanese have been running unleaded since 1975 and all their engines run fine with NO additives so no need for them here.

You could try it on 91, if it feel's a little off then try 95
I run all mine cars, bike and mowers on 98, some people run their's on 91
