So I have my spare 250 fizzer I was going to use as parts but seems to be a shame as bloke I bought off send it did run just rough.
So I decided to turn into race bike and hopefully get licence and give it a go!!!
So I'm throwing it out there if anyone nows the rules and regs for getting it on track or has the docs that states what is required mayb the team tiger boys???
Next week or 2 will start to strip then rebuild from ground up, will be a Long process while I complete my second trade but think it be worth it!!
I will put up updates and any help and advice would be much appreciated!!!
    Cheers pat

Pat ...sounds like a great idea ......start up a thread as Id be keen to see it grows from ground zero

Wat model 3LN is it? ..how 'complete' is it?

I have alot of spare bits as mine came with a spares bike (mostly in pieces) if u need a hard to get piece.

Chris has a couple of spares FZRs also.

Heres the Team Tiger race prep page ....

One thing to do as prep for racing an FZR - you don't want to have engine failures

http://www.fzrarchives.com/fzr400/FZR400 Frequently Asked Questions.html#Where are the oil restrictors, and what's this mod I hear about?

other details such as no glycol in the coolant, glass removed or taped and certain nut's and bolts lockwired are best acquired from someone with specific knowledge

    peace out

We have a FZR250 setup as a spare bike - I have a set of bare race glass for it, give me a yell if you're looking for fiberglass. We can also weld on the bits you want - engine case protection, shark fin under the swingarm so you can't get your finger caught in the chain, and we also welded on bits so you could bolt in pick up knobs.

Feel free to ask me questions.

    Cheers
    Simon

So looking at cost and other factors like aftermarket parts thinking a cbr might be the option can pick up for reasonable price and use my spare fzr for my running bike and sell some parts to help fund wonder what you guys think?

This is the road we travelled, the CBR is just more reliable and then you are on the same machinery as the majority of the 250 grid - more often than not the class consists of only CBR250RR's. There is very little between them, however the availability of parts became our number one issue that was not an issue with the CBRs. The most important thing is you get out on track :p

Might also consider turning my road fizzer to track or sell and buy a full track bike so many ideas rather have a bike on track than road legal

That is beautiful fairing and bike. Don't track it! Leave it!

And that's the problem when trying to get on the track with a particular machinery.

I'm finding a lot of the guys that race Fords in IPRA are handicapped by hard to get parts within the rules.

The biggest hurdle is power increases. The standard V8 block won't handle track work with the amount of power they need to put out to compete competitively. But can't go an aftermarket because the rules won't allow it.

And it's the same with the Fizzers. Grey imports, hard to get parts, harder to get performance improvements. But in someways that half the fun. If it was easy, everyone would do it!
