For the 1/8th I have gone two teeth down on front sprocket. I am just changing into fourth at around 110Km/h as I cross the line.

I run standard 14/48 on the ZXR. On the 1/8 mile I am doing 75mph when I cross the line in 3rd gear. I tried 15/48 (hopeless) & will try 13/48 with wheelie bars sometime soon.

My previous bike was like 15/41, does 80+ in first, sits on about 6,700@100km/h. 4th gear was equal to standard gearing. Sure, first gear was slow on take off, but I wasn't going hard on the clutch to see how quick I can get it off the mark.

Anyone who attended the May 2019 meeting at Gunnedah would remember Brian Vernon won the bike class on his Triumph. He also won his class at WSID on the weekend. Well done Brian. Below image courtesy of Crackling Pipes Photography. Interesting that Sharona Reddy crashed in the braking area on her Honda 600. Second motorcycle braking area crash in recent times (the other at Calder). All motor racing is dangerous.

I know a guy who works in Capalaba and has a big van who might be interested in coming down with a few bikes. And, I know how much @ShaneP likes a good long drive...he'd make a good drive buddy!

I have already planned a track day at Warwick in 2 weeks, so that blows my budget. Also, I have a men's retreat that weekend. Drat.

It was a "tongue-in-cheek" comment Shane. Kiffsta is pretty busy, so I know he's unlikely to attend. He has so many bikes he could bring down though!

no bad luck- had a new cam chain put in the 750 and is still rattling- alternator chain. quote of 1500 plus parts and i cannot find an alternator chain for an rc42.must be a solution- a tusabaki chain theoretically fits with an extra 2 links.love the old beast.

Surely, there's at least one bike you could bring along for a skid? Even if you just come on the Sunday. Didn't you buy another FZR recently or have the blown fixed?

Brian Vernon doing well at recent WSID meeting...

    WSID 20191019.JPG
A missed shift from Bernadette McShane was all Brian Vernon needed to win Street Bike aboard his Triumph.

And this is Bernadette's bike (with Bernadette riding). Maybe we can coax her up to Gunnedah. I'm guessing a lady rider would generate a bit of interest!

Okay, that's a pretty good reason.

I hope your shoulder gets better soon. Are you in Tamworth this week/weekend?
