1989 Honda Spada 250 PHC project 2

    side stand switch, good one Brisfox... we all missed that one , also does it need the clutch lever in to spark ? Have a look at the perch for 2 wires to see if they are connected

    No side stand switch, I have noticed that the oil light doesn't turn on! I'll check it tomorrow.

    Clutch lever needs to be in, I closed the circuit. That was my one of my first mistakes! Thanks.

    before forking out moneys for a battery, get the one out of your car and truly confirm the spark theory.
    just about every non-running bike i buy is bought back from the dead via a big dirty truck battery :thumb_ups:

    You aren't alone Cal, can't recall how many times the bonnet is lifted, jumper leads hooked up, followed by some serious cranking, with many a good outcome! :thumb_ups:

    Update, put the jumpers on the bike today, cranked her over, loads of spark!!
    Sprayed a bit of "Start Ya Bastard", fired up and purring like a kitten.

    Thanks for everyones Help. I can now strip her down and give her a clean, paint and re-assemble!
