Shouldn't you be focusing on getting some of your bikes running?

Yes, it lifted the front wheel like that even with the V6 I had in it, would go a metre up if I banged it into second gear with too many revs up.
A couple of photos from 1998.

Looks like the HPR Nostalgia Event really did wake up a lot of people. The Venue has now created a special Nostalgia class for people to race their vehicles in the HPR Sportsman Series.

YT video of the recent HPR Nostalgia Drag Meeting. It goes for over an hour and the quality of the production is top notch.

Junior Drag Bike in the UK is certainly a different animal to the Australian version. Their rules are a little different as the class is advertised as "A National Championship for children aged between 8 and 17 years, run on 50cc to 500cc junior drag".

They had their National Finals last weekend and the riders and their bikes certainly looked the part. Some pics for your viewing pleasure. Is it my imagination or are there a lot girls racing in JDB over there? Some of the smaller riders look like they're on some kind of motorbike/scooter hybrid.

The Afflick family have been involved with drag racing and land speed bikes for as long as I can remember. They recently shipped one of their bikes to the USA for a crack at the 50cc record in APS-F-50 (103mph). Weather ruined their chances.

I think the class APS-F-50 is as follows.
    'APS' Altered Construction; Partial Streamlining
    'F' Fuel (e.g. Nitromethane)
    '50' 50cc capacity

Warren Afflick (dad) raced in Top Fuel Motorcycle in the late seventies and early eighties.

That is a shame but we cannot do anything about the weather. Hope for clear skies in 2023. Interesting to see in those photos that there is no ground covering under any machines, maybe their salt is different to ours?

Some 2023 speed trial events for our UK members. And, if you get bored, you can visit the Jorvik Viking Centre in York (well worth it).

As much as I dislike the place, I guess it's local for anyone wanting to have a bit of fun. CPR (Calder Park Raceway) is open for street racing again. Hopefully, they got rid of all those bumps and corrugations near the finish line and the braking area.

They have also started Sunday Test & Tune sessions to give people an option to driving all the way out to HPR. We'll see how successful this is. My memory of these events was they were poorly organised and run by 'monkeys'. Time will tell if anything has changed.

Not bike related, but many Aussie forum member's will appreciate (or be shocked) that a street-driven HQ Holden recently covered the 1/4 mile in 6.65 seconds at 214mph! I got the old man's HQ to 100mph once and I needed a lot more than 400 metres.
