Mostly just wondering if anyone has any interest in this as I don't really know what to do with my bike. My insurance won't cover it since the damage was really my fault Anyway I crashed my glorious sewing machine today, it's got some cosmetic damage (scratched fairing, broken mirror and indicator, the usual) forks are bent, rear brake pedal bent, I started the engine after it crashed and it ran but quite poorly, also was leaking fuel so I shut it off Frame seems all good but I haven't had a close look. It hasn't been written off so if you really did want to fix it up and get it on the road, you could. Has fairly fresh tyres, pirelli sport demons If any of you are interested id happily sell it for like $350, I'm not really fond enough of this bike to bother fixing it all, would rather just get rid of it, maybe take a little break and save for a nicer bike that isnt thrashed or korean its not a total wreck, but it would surely be a bit of work. Can update with pics tomorrow if anyone is interested
Mate if you have comprehensive insurance, you should be able to make a claim. Read your PDS. Who's your insurer?
i dont have comprehensive, only ctp. might as well try and see if i can get any money out of them anyway, since that would sure be great, but im fairly sure it only covers my liability for injuries that i cause on the road
put up more pics mate and we all should be able to help, rear sets are designed to snap. it could all be easy fixes....cheap and easy fixes!
If you don't have comprehensive and you came off on your own then yeah it's all on you unfortunately. If someone else hit you and they only had CTP try to claim anyway otherwise you need to reach an agreement with the person or send a letter of demand followed by taking the matter to court.
I had another look at it today cause I was in the area to pick up something from the post office, the fairings came out surprisingly not bad at all, but the forks are definitely a bit twisted. I think if I have another look at the engine when I get it picked up and it seems okay, I might just see how much parts are and fix it. It made some odd clicky noises when I was rolling it so I may need to look at the chain/sprockets or something too. Its not leaking any oil either which is good, going to see if I can find the fuel leak and try starting it up and see how it goes
I just got brake-checked in the middle of a turn and hit my brakes to avoid rear ending the guy and promptly lost grip and fell, didn't actually get hit by anyone
Good thought, perhaps only a little TLC might have you back on the road again? If you need a hand with it let us know...here to help, not to hinder
The damage doesn't sound too bad. I'd take the forks off and see how bent they are. Sometimes you can bend the stanchions back if they're not bent too much. I mean, fixing it to a rideable state probably won't cost much. And you'd be able to sell it for more.
