As many of you know I have a love \ hate relationship with my ZXR250c, having owned it for 12 months, I have been through an engine, yet I come back for more. Out of all the 250's, I have ridden, I really love my little ZXR , the inline 4 has plenty of poke and it handles really well. So now that the engine is sorted , I thought about tidying it up a bit as the previous owner had dropped it and the plastics really needed some TLC. So Phil and I had a chat, we could repair the existing fairings and get Bob aka Paint my ride to work his magic or we could look at an aftermarket body kit. I found a few kits on-line such as Tyga and I was blown away by the pics of their ZXR250 bike on their website. So with Visa in hand, I touched base with Paul from Tyga and all going well I should have a freshly painted Tyga kit arriving soon. here is a pic of my ZXR250 as is Thanks Chris
here is a pic of the Tyga kit I have ordered, I will take plenty of photos as we fit the kit, should be an interesting transformation . If anyone is interested in Tyga kits, you can check them out here www.tygaperformance.com
Funny how your opinion can change. Chris and I had spoken often about kits for bikes but call me "old fashion" but I always liked what the manufacturers had put together! Then showed me the TYGA kit for the zxr250, yeah, I know, I was sold. Strongly believe we are going to have one smokin looking bike on our hands. In all honesty can't wait for the kit to arrive. Photos will be posted as we transform this great bike, should be a blast. Phil
in prep for the kit arriving, I thought I would get the fork seals done, they are done and the forks are back on the bike, now to sort out the clutch cover oil leak and Im ready !!!
well my kit arrived yesterday, so I set about stripping the ZXR down. Bob aka paint my ride popped over and have me hand with the mods to the rear subframe and I received a lesson on how to paint the rear subframe assembly with a rattle can :occasion14: heres a few pics of the disassembly
looks smoking Chris pleased for ya mate  as for the ac/dc track top band i was there at donington when they played used to be my regular summer festival only lived 50 Min's from the circuit
Project TYGA- the ZXR250 is transformed  The zxr250 looked bare when I arrived at Chris's place Saturday evening. Off with the old and on with the new. Chris and our friend Bob had commenced the stripping down in preparation for the fitment of the new kit. Arriving with a new RK chain and new sprockets, that's where we started. Progress was swift to start with, each part fitted began the transformation and it was going well. As the night progressed and fatigued set in, things slowed somewhat. 1am, we called it quits and hit the sack. Next morning we, got stuck in and by early afternoon we rolled out the new and transformed zxr250. Few bits to finish off, but pretty well complete. The bike looked GREAT, a quick wipe down and Chris's pride and joy was ready for reveal. Was it worth it, absolutely!! Having been a skeptic to start with, I stand corrected. Was it difficult, not really. Tyga have made a good quality product, instructions could be improved but the product itself is very sound. Having heard of horrors stories about kits, this proved to be incorrect and assembly was pretty straight forward. Could the product be improved, sure but most things can!! Fitment of new indicators on the rear and this bike is ready to go. So, I'll finish off by saying this. Enjoy your new ride Chris, it looks fantastic. Phil
Hey Chris, Bike looks absolutely fantastic. Great job by you, bob and phil. Can't wait to see it in the flesh at the next ride. nat
Check Out Tyga on Facebook, my ZXR250 is on their Facebook page now, make sure you check them out "Like" them  http://www.facebook.com/#!/tygaperformance
I just fitted up some rear indicators to the ZXR250, I ended up using some MSC branded indicators which are a copy of the rears off a Suzuki DRZ400, I think they look the goods and match in quite well with the lines of the kit!!! so the bike is nearly done, waiting on the levers to arrive from screamingdemon.com.au and maybe I will buy a slip on exhaust and call it stumps. Very happy with the outcome !!!
The Tyga project has now been completed with the arrival of the new exhaust. The bike looks fantastic, way better than I could have imagined when Chris first broached the Tyga kit some months back. Now we await some decent weather to take her for a good run, hopefully not too far away. Our zxr250 has been well and truly transformed for the better and is a great looking bike. Having been very sceptical to start with, I'm a convert. Phil
