The on going saga of the ZXR250 This morning I checked tire pressures before getting the bike back to Chris. Tire pressure were on the money but I discovered movement in the rear wheel. Off with the back wheel and knock out 2 bearings, install 2 new ones and she is ready to go, It's like this bike wants the last word, always. Took the bike for a spin, running very nicely, dare I say it JOB DONE!!!!! Phil P.S. Bring on the NSR250, at least it has no valves to worry about, or so I hope.
Hey Phil You could be on the money, I do think she's OK now and all being well perform well for Chris. If anything else goes wrong I'm changing my number. Phil
Last Friday, late afternoon I headed down to Brisbane on the ZXR250. The distance was around 120km from my place on the Sunshine Coast. Funny thing with another persons bike, you just aren't familiar with sounds they are making. The temp was fine, got her up to 110 on the highway and she seemed fine. In the back of my mind I was thinking about what may go wrong and continued to check exit numbers on the Bruce highway, just in case. Reached the outskirts of Brisbane, bike was performing well so I just kept going. First set of lights was reached where I had to stop, engine pured at idle and I sensed I would reach Chris's place, no problem. The following morning replaced clutch cover gasket that Chris had sourced and that was the end of my short lived venture with the Kawasaki. She seems to be running well, glad it's over. Phil
A big thanks to Phil and Jason from Redline Motorcycles for getting her back on the road. I have ridden to work the past 2 days and she is running sweetly. After all the trouble I have had, I thought about getting rid of her, but yesterday I had a run through some twistys and its now safe to say this is a long termer in my garage. Cheers Chris
