ZXR Steering Stem bearing

    anyone have any suggestions on getting the bearing off the bottom of the steering stem

    Lots of different techniques, here is mine.
    I assume they are tapered roller bearings.
    1/ Pry the cage off, all the rollers will fall off too.
    2/ gently grind a flat spot on the bearing ring with an angle grinder, you do not want to go too far and hit the steering stem. I always do this on the back side of the triple clamp so you can get good access with the grinder
    3/ Hit with a cold chisel, with the blade aligned to the stem axis, and the ring will split
    4/ lift it off, it will be quite easy
    5/ keep the split bearing ring to use as a drift to fit the new bearing, just reverse it and it gives you a good surface and a snug fit with which to press or tap the new bearing in place
