    Hi all,

I've just acquired a 1989 Kawasaki ZXR250, which came with the fairings (though not attached to the bike). I've had some fun and games finding appropriate bolts and now have to re-tap the rusted holes. My question is though - the way the two side fairings attach to each other underneath has me utterly beat - the holes don't seem to relate to each other. Has anyone had experience with similar era Kawasaki fairings or seen any good resources (book/video) on putting them on?

    Thanks,
    Charlotte.

    Hey Charlotte
Am feeling your pain, fitting panels is a pain in the.....! Thing to remember when starting out is to just get the bolts and screws started, keeping everything loose. This sounds strange but works as your working your way around the bike. In essence it gives you room to maneuver the panels into position. Once this is achieved you can then tighten everything up, trust me it works.
As for the screws and bolts, most bike shops sell kits with Allen heads and I have used then and like them.
    Good luck with it.                                                Phil

    Hey Charlotte

Cool, you will love the ZXR250, if yours is an 89 then its a ZXR250A model with twin headlights, the fairings attach to the body as marked in red, on the C model  there is a bracket between the fairings near the front, but I cant see it in this pic so I cant help.

    thanks

    Chris

Thanks guys - I have the bolts now, just the attaching together in the belly pan area is a puzzle (the blue area in the photo above). On the upside, a helpful bike shop staffer here had a spare pair of fairing inserts that he gave me, and these I can see how they go in. Will put in all the bolts I can see and then see what's left to work out.

On a related note - anyone ever seen an english service manual for the zxr250A? I found several links on the net but none work anymore :)

good news Charlotte, I have never been able to find the A model manual, the C model is in the downloads section of the forum and there are plenty of carry over between the A and C models so the C model might be a good place to start.

Thanks Chris - that tallies with the results of my searching. I've got the 1997 for the C model, so that will have to do. Thanks again.
