Help Zeal cam caps and chain guides

    Doing the shims and timing chain on the zeal, I noticed when I pulled the cam cover off is that the centre metal timing chain plate with plastic guide is not there. The FZR250's have this, but this the first zeal I've pulled the cover off. Need to know if it supposed to be there on the zeal or not.

    It's this bit in the centre - this is off a 3LN7 bottom end.

    If you compare them, I'd guess and say not? Zeal is 1st, 3LN second.

    Is there a rubbing strip on the inside of the Zeal cam cover ?
    I have to say that none of the FZR's i've pulled down have ever shown wear on that top guide.
    Factory delete as a cost cutting measure ?

    No rubbing strip on the inside... thanks for the pics too, my hands are covered in oil and not fit for computer use :p
