Yahoo Auctions Japan...
... or just buy an FZR400 then relabel it to avoid the attention.

The pick of the bunch is the FZR400R SP. Had a heap of nice suspension gear on it.

haven't quite got the money to buy an entire 400. Barely scraped through on this 250 (fkn costs of getting it on the road :/)

just looking for something a bit beefier to stick into my baby, since I'm only legally allowed to ride a 250.why not keep it all looking the same, jsut going fasteR?

It will be a whole lot easier make a 400 with a couple of stickers that say FZR250 than to put the 400 engine in the 250. Most police wouldn’t know a 250 from a 600 let alone an fzr250 from a fzr400. You do know either option will cause trouble with insurance if found out, usually at the worst possible time.

Here is a link to a translated version of Yahoo Auctions Japan. The prices seem cheap but once you factor in shipping and an intermediary to actually purchase the item and ship it off its not so good. It is good for the hard to find part though.

If you want it going faster why not play with the sprockets?
Do what i did and drop 2 teeth off the front and it'll certainly make it more lively. You'll be changing gears more often but you'll get used to it pretty quickly... and the grin will come back soon enough.

only problem I can really thinkof is that i already sit at about 9000rpm when i'm on the highway at 100km/h, don't wanna be sitting on 12 the whole way :p

edit: just got off the phone to yamaha. $9 they reckon, and I can get a 15 or 16 tooth front sprocket. I think I'll get a 15 for the hell of it :p

Now you see why i suggested swapping sprockets.
Swapping engines = $2000 or more
Swapping sprockets = $50 for front and back

For $9 a piece you might as well get both of them and have a play around.
