hmm on the 3LN there are major problems with the rubbers connecting the air box to the carbs... they go hard... similar thing with the 2KR but it is mostly the air box that warps... so that is the first place I would look for an air leak

you didn't really say what the bike runs like (ie. is the problem only with starting or does it run like crap too?), but if it starts fine when warm maybe it just needs more fuel at start when cold - definitely you should try full choke (and variations of that if it doesn't work) when starting from cold - maybe give the throttle a coupla twists before pressing the starter... simple stuff i know, and if you're well beyond that then move on to more difficult stuff (compression, valve clearances etc..)

i have got it running really rich so as to keep it running only runs on two cylinders till it warms up fully then fires on all 4 sometimes it will foul the spark plugs cause of too much fuel thats why i think maybe it is the valves or maybe the rings but it doesnt blow any smoke when you nuts it so i doubt it is the rings but i would like some input before i go and tear the thing apart and spend where i dont need to so any help would be great

check the valve clearences... they do go out on these bikes!! and EVERY body forgets about that!! AND doing a carby balance is usseless unless the valve clearances are perfect!!

Also check out the idle mixture screw on each carby... it should be set to 2.5 to 3.25 turns out but if the jets are warn than each one needs to be individualy set... (lots of fun)

hey tbone i read in the other forums that you have made some moulds how hard are they to make and whats the process cause i have a couple of bikes i could do with making my own fairings hopefully be cheaper than bying them

You have shitty float heights and clogged carbies. A clean air filter and spark plugs mightn't go astray too if it's been awhile.

You need to itemise all the repairs/replacements made in the servicing and decide what WAS done at the shop and start from there. Put it this way, if your getting good spark, have good compression start looking at the fueling system.
