So I hear people have put in extra switches in to control Thermo fans and Headlights (for those of you who have had the switched removed by importers).

I would like to put these on my bike but I dont know where/how I am going to mount them. So who has extra switches and where have you mounted them? what type of switches did you use? do you think its necissary to use relays?

Pics would be good if you have them.

My fizzer still has the entire headlight switch block in tact. I would assume their are many more like it. Go down to the wreaker and see if you can find one and save yourself the trouble of a frankenstein job.

As for the fan switch.... You won’t need one if your cooling system is working properly and your bike is running like it should. I had temp problems once upon a time myself and looking back at it, a switch would have only been a band aid solution.

Probably not a bad idea, except my experience with motorcycle wreckers is that they are not cheap, and at the end of the day its gunna cost me $55 for something I could rig up for under $5. I see your point though.

I do believe the cooling system itself is working fine, its the Thermo fan which isnt. It does not turn on even when the needle on the guage is just on the edge of the red. A switch would be an easy and quick solution for now.

If the fan isn’t turning on by itself but works. I would be looking at what is supposed to turn the fan on. Check the thermostat and maybe trace the wiring back to a temperature sensor somewhere?

Im thinking hidden disable switches, any added lighting or electrical components...

It really doesn’t matter a whole lot where the switch is, convenience would dictate it being close to what you are trying to switch on and off. I really don’t know if a secret immobilizing switch is worth the trouble. If someone wants to steal your bike a switch isn’t going to make much of a difference. Adding unnecessary electrical devices to the fizzer will more that likely end in grief as well, its has such little charge to begin with. I mean people have had issues upgrading headlight bulbs....
