I am in need of a new rotor for my 86 2kr. Some posts I found here said the FJ1200 rotor will fit, but what year is it? the used bike parts shop says there are 2 different specs, one is pre 1991 and one is post 1991. I am assuming it's the pre 1991, but whould like to make sure before I go order it. Do anybody here know?

    TIA

according to summitdog it is the same rotor that fits fj1200, tdm and tzr250. I hope that if you look into the different years you will find some commonalities and be able to figure out which rotor! (see <!-- l --><a class="postlink-local" href="http://www.fzr250.com/viewtopic.php?t=1040&highlight=fj1200">viewtopic.php?t=1040&highlight=fj1200</a><!-- l --> )

On the other hand - where are you? If in melbourne there is a place you can get rotors made usually cheaper and better quality than factory parts.

I'm in Canada, which makes things that much harder to find parts.

I have gone through most of the posts on this forum regarding the rotors, including the one you provided, and there's still no definite answer as to what year FJ1200 it is, and the used parts store listed 2 different types of rotors for the FJ1200.

BTW, I was able to get a quote of 175 CAD for a 91 FJ1200 rotor. Considering if I order anything overseas, or even from the US, I'll most likely get taxed by customs and the shipping isn't cheap either. So if I can find it locally by having the correct info, it will be better.

Have a look for tdm or tzr250 rotors instead of fj1200 - those haven't changed in a long time! (supposedly they are also the same as the fzr250-2kr)

where abouts in Canada? I'm from East of Toronto (born a blue-noser though). I think you are the first member on this site who lives in canada!

Hi Boz, I'm from Vancouver! almost no snow here for a longer riding season! <!-- s:) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!-- s:) --> But being in Canada means the fzr and tzr are not sold here, which means shops and dealers have no access to parts for them. But they can access the FJ1200 parts bin cus it was sold here. Which is why I am asking for the year for this specific bike.

BTW, I happen to run accross this site
    http://d-suzume-hp.hp.infoseek.co.jp/yam_whel.htm

it listed that the TZR has a 10mm offset, and the one on my 2kr only has a 5 mm offset. which means 91 FJ1200 will fit but not the TZRs? Anyone can verify if the info on that site is correct?
