Ultrasonic cleaners

    Yeah - I was a jeweller in another life and we used them all the time - that's a pretty good price for an ultrasonic of that size. In the 80's that size unit was about $1500 - I s'pose they're made in the PRC nowadays.

    The trick with them is to look after them. Always clean them when you're finished with them and never put too hot (boiling) water in them. Really hot water can make the transducers stuck to the underside of the bowl/tank come unglued.

    Just put warm water in them, a dash of dishwashing liquid and a dash of ammonia.

    Oh and don't run it with the water level low. There's be a maker in the tank as to where to keep the water level to.

    i used to use one in the UK when i worked in a bike shop great bit of kit was gonna buy myself one here but seemed very pricey here

    was some cheap ones coming out of Israel on ebay i seem to remember
