I know you don't go on what the tyre says be becasue that tyre could fit up to 6 or more different bikes of different weight/class, Look on your bike somewhere ! it says tyre pressures in the lockable back compartment on my bike use these as guidelines ! Play around with it a *little* to find what's best for your weight/riding style.

    Hope this helps a bit

Hey dean, Just incase you don't find the pressure settings on your bike mine says:

    Cold inflation pressure

    Front : 230kpa Rear: 230kpa

And the conversion works like this

    Kpa * 0.14504 = Psi

    230 * 0.14504 = 33.3592

So a starting point would be somewhere around 33 psi

    Cya

    Tyres

I put about 30psi in rear and 24psi in front rememeber that if you like rolling and riding tight swoping corners you should have about 33psi in front and 28psi in front so you get what im getting at.

Any suggestions as to what brand and type of tyres suit the FZR?

I have Dunlops but would like to know whether anyone uses Michelin's?

I've had trouble with grip on the rear in wet days as it likes to kick out under brakes.

Have had to coast through intersections under red lights for fear of dropping it.

    hey ivincent,

Riding in the wet is allways dicey, I have dunlop battlax tyres on both front and rear of my bike. From my exprience are pretty good tyres, but in the wet don't perform very well. I think it's more about riding style when combating wet conditions rather than tyre choice.

at present I have 32 in rear and 30 in front the bike rides just fine with these pressures, i had a little play around with pressures and didn't notice a massive difference in tyre performance unless the pressure was too high say around 38psi and even then it was fairly minimal.

    Peace

aren't battlax's bridgestone? I forget to be honest.

I am running on dunlop arrowmax - I used to run on battlax's - so that is what I will compare. The arrowmaxes are fantastic. They are quite soft, so they won't last as long as the battlax's, but for the performance trade-off I am very happy! Battlax's were a harder tire, and it took longer to get them warm but once they were the performance was a bit better.

Cosmetically - I like the arrowmax much more. Obviously I have put the same size arrowmax as battlax on my bike, but the arrowmax has a much wider profile despite this. And considering how narrow the rims are on the fzr it makes it look much nicer.

    Bridgstone

I use Bridgestone Battlax on rear and Dunlop Arrowmax front. I beleve that the Battlax is a awesome tyre and even on big leans it still sticks with no fuss. Awesome tyre!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One point to make is always check the psi you have when the tyres are COLD this works because when the tyre is warm it reads diffrent to the true amount. Also it all comes down to what u like. under 30psi for the rear is bad. I will post up a good bit of info that will make all you guys think twice. Once I find it again lol <!-- s:( --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" title="Sad" /><!-- s:( -->
