Has anyone ever pondered putting a turbo on an FZR250R? Was thinking about butchering my spare manifold and putting one where the Exup valve used to be..... just an idea that may be too mad to think about! Got a spare engine as well you see, just put a double head gasket in to lower the compression, umm what else? pipe work shouldnt be too much of a problem, then coming off the turbo i dont think there would be need for a zorst can, as the turbo would make it quieter.... hmmmm just seen another FZR250 on ebay, in the UK, stolen recovered for £450 buy it now..... tempted but 2 is enough at the moment. And its only a single disk version. Cheers Gaz
nothing wrong with the single disc versions!!! But I had never considered a turbo for the fzr. I just want a bigger bike. But it would be fun to see a fzr doing 250 k's +! Question: how would the stability hold up? Would it get the shakes at the higher speeds, and would this be too big of a problem? I am not saying this to discourage as I like the idea, but just thinking about other things that may need to be addressed.
Turbo would be interesting to see, imagine the look on peoples faces as you fly off at the lights, hit second and let the blow off valve squeal..!! I saw a media clip of a turbo Hyabusa on the net last year, that thing was crazy. Thats just getting silly!!! Rob.
apperntly turboing a 250 it a no, no not worth it $$$ ant the engine wont last long there was a bike mechanic on the across forums who went indepth as 2 why you can't or shouldnt turbo 250'z besides the across dont need it at all, it fast ! the fzr is faster !!!! so it definatly wouldnt need it imho
lol not worth it. I priced it up and checked out the work that would be needed. Just buy a larger cc bike!
