Should do 75-78k in 1st gear. My red light (83K) comes on just after I change into 2nd gear. Please note this is not my normal riding style
Yeah, I checked today - it got to about 75 before I changed up but I guess I could have wrung a few extra k's out of it easily enough!
nah, you've just got more sense than these other cowboys.. Just kidding! first gear actually feels pretty short to me (i'm pretty impressed you can wring it out to 75kph), I generally short shift up to second and then really wind it up from there..
Nope =P I got mine to 65 today in first, without really trying. Shook like all buggery though. Guess its something riders get used to (gloves might help too)
Hehe, first gear on my FZR now stretches out to somewhere ~110km/h... or so.
Smarty pants. I'd look for a teeny rear sprocket and huge front sprocket to try and beat that but I don't think theres a setup in the world for it. That and I'm poor and couldn't afford custom sprockets.
Hehe, sure is Tim. Actually in Australia the max posted limit is 110km/h AFAIK - which means i can can break 100% of the posted limits in 1st gear.
That would be a little tough to break in sixth gear let alone first!
he did specify 'posted' speed limits. If there's no speed limit posted, then his statement remains correct
I was very specific with the reference to posted limits. If a road has an unrestricted speed, then there is no limit... hence no posted limit. Limit being the key word in that whole statement.
why is your bike that fast?? 110 on first! if my bike runs that great, i'll be happy even if it comes only with three gears!!! what bike do you have?!?!?
dave, can i know the size of your sprockets and your chain?? we got the same bike, thanks. does replacement chains may fit??
Without physically checking the bike I don't know. The manual says 17 front and 56 rear sprocket. The chain is a 428 and 130 links
