Some people just have no freakin idea... this one below has been posted before at the original starting price of $4000 I think.. he has slowly over about 6 months come down to $2800 and reality is.. based on the pics and the description he is probably more than $1800 too dear still..

That's the thing, isn't it. They watch some show on TV or whatever and think they can make a profit from (badly) modifying an older bike. It's all based on aesthetics and buyer appeal. The first question I would ask is "what's the compression like?" followed by "does it blow any smoke?" etc etc. What's the point of a modified bike if it doesn't run properly to start with. It's like that guy that Shane posted who wanted $1,000 for a basket case that doesn't have a running engine and a bunch of other things wrong with it. I'm guessing he picked it up for $100 or a slab of beer and he's trying to find a sucker to flip it to.

I fear he got it running for more than that. But it wasn't not-running, it was seized!

On the "does it blow smoke?" point, I saw an ad for a KX85 that had the description "blows smoke, but has done since new.. "

Meh, I would just ask if it runs.... if it does then it “may” be worth looking at, if not... it isn’t worth looking at unless you are after a basket case.

When you have an old cb750, but it's not enough to be collectable, so you make a cafe racer

Not sure it'll pass a roadworthy

He should be shot. While it isn’t a classic SOHC it still didn’t deserve that treatment.

@ShaneP, I have no idea what site that listing is from? Anyway, you can post links?
