Yes interesting stuff .... very 2 stroke orientated though and "our" inline 4s hardly got a mention .... ZXR250 not even in the mix .... I guess it was alot to do with what was readily available in his domain vs JDM/grey imports Had to laugh with his Suzuki Across special mention at the end ... I think he needs to get out more
He seemed to miss the ZX25R when discussing modern 2fiftycc bikes. Claimed 50hp and 187kph top speed isn't too shabby. In my opinion, when it comes to 250cc a well-tuned 2-stroke will always make (heaps) more power than a 4-stroke.
I was surprised that there was no mention of the Suzuki Hustler from the late 1960s. I thought that part of their advertising in 1967 was that it was the first production 250 capable of 100mph (even thought that wasn't quite true).
Almost pulled trigger on this one from BaT. But then I looked at maintenance schedule... new rings every 1000km? No thanks!!! but... 98bhp... 101kg ... 215kph top-speed would be so much fun!!! (actually RS250R, not sure why it's got NSR on it)

Take it drag racing...you'll race it for 5 years before you need to do the ring service! Seriously though, good luck trying to get 98bhp out of a 4-stroke 250! @DannoXYZ what's BaT?
That would be British American Tobacco or BAT. is my best guess... They own the Rothmans brand and also had BAT F1 team that eventually became Honda, then Brawn F1 after Honda pulled out and then Mercedes F1. Plenty of gasper funds to sink into top Racing categories, teams, drivers, riders etc back then. Plus BaT got around the anti Tobacco sponsorship laws in many countries for a while.
