Has anyone here started a thread regarding the bikes they have owned ?..... My first bike was a Yamaha TY175, then a Yamaha TY250 Mick Andrews replica....they are trials bike to the uninitiated...loved them to death.....then a Montesa Cota 347, another trials bike( getting serious now folks :D )...then a Yamaha RD250, because a mate had a Honda Hawk 250 and I fell in love with road riding....then a Yamaha LC 350....thought that was the Ducks guts....until I got the chance to ride a Ducati 350 Silver Shotgun....slower than the LC 350, but handled on rails....bought a Ducati 350 Silver Shotgun, then some scum bag stole it... .bought a Ducati 500 sport....know as the Claytens Ducati????....( the Ducati you have when you dont have a Ducati )....made by Italjet handled really nice to be quite honest....just unreliable....traded it on a Ducati SD Darmah 900....my " No Drama Darmah "....bloody beautiful bike..:thumb_ups: ..bloody shithouse seat though for the rider....you sat on a 6 inch wide piece of padding ( which I swear had 6 inch nails sticking through ) whilst your pillon sat on 12 inch wide seat....no ergonomic styling there folks....pure italian styling only....the riders seat followed the contours of the top of the petrol tank, 6 inches wide all the way to the riders seat, then fanned out to around 10 to 12 inches for the pillion....went like a dog shot in the bum, of course out performed by the jap superbikes, but they couldn`t get near you in the twisties when you where on the duke....traded that in on a house loan..., had a break of about 7 years without 2 wheeled transport, bought a Suzuki SV650....bloody nice little bikes...japans answer the the Ducati Pantah for riders on a budget....then a Yamaha XVS 1100....only so the missus could come for a ride with me...what was I thinking:idk: ....horrible piece of crap....sold it and bought a 1996 Suzuki RGV 250 for a track bike project, then I saw this bike and it was everything I ever wanted.....drum roll please maestro....a 2006 Honda Blackbird...or should that be a Silverbird??? what a bloody weapon....Oh my god.....the most awesome road bike I have ever owned,....only trouble was it was released to late for an old fart like me to be comfortable on.....seriously....a sports tourer...who are they kidding...compromise between both worlds....traded it in on a.....drum role please maestro....2010 Triumph America....well I did say I was an old fart didn`t I??? ....great bike needs another 60 kw to be a brillant bike, Oh and shaft or belt drive...oh and triple discs...oh and a decent seat....etc....then saw a great little track bike,( because you can`t use a cruiser for a track bike, I know this now as I left lots of metal around Philip Island & Eastern Creek from the Triumph...:D ) I bought a 2004 kawasaki ZX6RR track bike....and that ladies and gentlemens is my life story of motorbikes I have owned/and now own.....did I mention my very first ever ride on a motorbike?? it was a my brothers Triumph Tiger 650cc....back in 1971 Blue & White....guess what colour my Triumph America is???.....yep....Blue & White.....just goes to show some things are iconic and bury themselves into your subconsious, only for the wheel of destiny to turn full circle and....blah..blah..blah.....or could it be that that bike was the most mind altering, thing that buried itself into my brain to later surface as my current alternate transport....or was it that the bike was owned by my late and favourite brother who at the time was the sargent of arms for the nomads, and if I dropped it I was a dead man...lol....( answers on a post card ) Thankyou for taking a long and boring trip down memory lane with me guys.....all of the above is true and has been submitted to you under the influence of two large glasses of " Ben Hall Bourbon Port "....
