Am going to get the frame and swing arm blasted back to bare metal so I can do a good paint job on them. Yesterday I stripped the shocks, and although the dampening is a bit soft for trail riding it will be ok for the road, I blasted and painted the shock bodies gloss black and springs with some yellow I had left from one of my cars when I touched up some Kings Springs for coil overs. Some body had sprayed them with white, and it took a bit of blasting and wire brushing to get off. Today I put them together. Before. After.
Found a piece of nylon bar under my lathe and made a new swing arm bush. The metal part is also a little worn so I left the new bush a little bit smaller so it will be a 'tap in fit' when I put it together. The right side bush has a tiny amount of wear but is still within limits. Old shagged bush on right.
Over the weekend I got the frame painted and have started on the rebuild. Picked up the wheels from the powdercoaters and fitted new tyre and tubes. When putting the steering head together I was a couple off ball bearings short. I had to break up three old wheel bearings until I found the right size balls. Will start on the forks tomorrow and should have it on wheels by the end of week.
Not a lot of progress today. Spent most of my time blasting, cleaning and re zinc plating lots of bolts, nuts and small brackets.
So, it's the end of the week (Friday) and as promised it is now on wheels. Seat, tank and guards just sat on there to give you an idea of what it will look like.
Does anybody know of or can point me in the direction of a voltage booster/amplifier to take the 6 volt system to 12 volts?

While the new yellow paint is drying I rebuilt the carb after evicting an ant's nest. Before; After, ready to fit and add fuel.
End of the week and a bit more progress. Have the panels and tank painted and stickered. While the paint has been setting I have rebuilt the carb, the fuel tap and the oil pump. Still waiting on some parts from ebay. The side cover I "made from scrap with two stones and a stick" (eh maelstrom) looks better with some paint and sticker. All it needs now is the engine.
