Just purchased a bike (after 25 years away from riding).

Bought two, both in various states of completeness. One is almost ride-able, but has an issue with carbs at the moment. The other is in bits, and I will be doing a complete tear down and rebuild, starting with the frame, which is being sand blasted at the moment.

Have three engines so some donor parts (if required). And I think 2 full sets of fairing. Rather like it with just the rear ones though, so might ride it like that for a while.

Second bike is for partner to come and ride along as well

Working on an English version of the parts manual, and as much of a workshop manual as I can (my Japanese is not very good).

Nice to join the forum, and hi to all riders out there.

    Andrew

Welcome! I'm from NZ and have a GSXR250 also, are yours GJ72A or GJ73A models?

Jeez you're doing well if you've managed to source spare engines and such here in NZ, I pretty much decided if I want a second engine that it's gonna be coming from Japan!

    Hi Blabz

Both are GJ72A's Great looking bikes.

The third engine is apparently a 'Race' engine, so I am not sure what the difference will be with it. Probably wont know until I strip it and have a look. Where abouts are you in NZ? Will put some pics up soon.

Curious to hear what you find in the race motor, I wouldn't imagine there would be a whole lot more to get out of the motor from factory, maybe just refreshed with OEM rings and bearings?

    I'm in Hamilton :)

Yeah I suspect it was just a refresh ready to be 'used' for racing. The second bike was to become a race bike (apparently).

Once I get them going might have to ride up and say hi... :)
