Hey all, my first time on here, I've got a 84 GN250 at the moment and I want to get my hands on a sportier looking bike, the GN was great to show me the basics and build confidence as I'm still on my L's but I want to upgrade to a sports bike, any suggestions?
ATM I'm leaning towards an Across as they are fairly cheaper than the others and look pretty decent.
So I guess I'm asking which of the bikes mentioned in the title would be best to get me to my full license and not lose interest?
    Thanks

sit on them, do test rides and see what you are happy with.take into account usage, rider position , leg comfort. reliability and resale.whatever the outcome be happy but why not get your licence and feel comfortable on the current ride.

Thanks, yeah I guess having a test ride would be the best bet but what do you think is the best look/performance wise?
& I want to upgrade because I bought the gn250 as a spur of the moment cheap first bike, and I'm no longer interested in the cruiser type bikes ATM

g'day mate, :welcome: I would say the Across if you can get a good one however I am a little biased towards a high revving inline 4 250cc! :thumb_ups: Oh the Noise they make!! As Risky has said though, test ride as many as you can and find the one that suits you the best.

I had a look at some of the YouTube videos on the sound of these bikes and by far I like the across the most, the cbr125 sounds really weak, I think they are overrated, but they are a good looking bike

    Hey Anthony

What sort of riding so you do ? The Across has a in-line 4 cylinder engine and is an awesome commuter, the tank is smallish and it has a steel frame which makes it a tad heavy, but it does like to rev. The ZZR is a legend of a bike, it was hardly updated during its long run in the showroom. Its a simple twin cylinder. The CBR125 is a bit down on power, again it comes back to what sort of riding you intend to do.

For me, I do like the Across, I guess budget comes into it and what you feel most comfortable on.

    Cheers

    Chris

My 2 cents worth. Both are awesome bikes, but you cant make decisions on YouTube vids.

As Chris asked, what do you want to do on a bike - think horses for courses.

Speaking to people about their opinions is great to get a general idea as both have their strong and weak points. But it is rider preference as they will handle differently.

Sit on them both, and test ride them. forget price, you can always save up. Make your judgement on which one speaks to you. You will find the decision is an easy one.

Modifying what you already have has a lot of merit. You know the bike and it's service history and how reliable it is, and would cost less than trading to another model. The big bonus is that you will learn about bikes and how they work as you progress with the project. Food for thought.

    Hey Anthony
Welcome to the forum. you obviously have excellent taste in motorcycles for you've chosen 2 great bikes. The only way to decide on which one is right for you is to ride both. They both are great bikes and have all the goodies one expects. The Suzuki Across is a brilliant machine, just kinda fits like a glove, comfortable to ride performs well. The glove box is just another bonus that the Across provides, would have liked a few extra litres in the fuel tank but hey after 150 odd k's you are ready to stop and stretch your legs.
ZZR are awesome machines, simple yet most capable on the highway. They do everything well, one is hard pressed to fault them and hence there longevity without major updates. Not certain the Honda fit the brief!
Best of luck, keep us posted on what you get.:thumb_ups:

Forget the 125, you'll be sick of it in no time.
