I made myself a helmet lock. It locks to the frame under the rear seat so I no longer have to carry my helmet around when I go into the shops.
Turns out my "dragging brake" turned out that the wheel was not running true.. it was out by almost an entire notch on the chain stay... so got my tire running true and the brake is no longer dragging.... When for another ride out Mt Glorious and the squeaking began on the way home... so i stopped turned the bike off and rolled it forward.. sure enough the front wheel bearing is shot.. so time to get a new one
Discovered today that the tacho plug changed from a 3 plug to an 5 plug frm import to aus delivered only thing i can think of is the tacho lights are those extra prongs as the importa lights arent attach to said plug -.- rewiring ahoy.
Yesterday: Ordered 4 cans of Threebond so I'm prepared for the next few carb rebuilds as it looked like a fair price per can - http://r.ebay.com/j0UDva Today: Attempted to re-ink the console lights on Scarlet with a white paint pen. Will see how it looks after a clean-up when it's dried but here's how it looked before and after: Before After
Worked all day as duty manager, god I hate retail ._. I got home and as therapy put on my new handlebar grips and the $5 ebay vinyls for some extra custom (they look kinda rubbish buuuuut hey, she needs a new fairing kit anyway )
The glacier moved today, ever so slightly. Drew up the bracket for my electric water pump and uploaded to have it 3D printed. Once it arrives I can finish the mods on the coolant inlet/outlet pipes and order some silicone hoses.
Not 100% but it seems to be a brake squeak not bearing squeak, I jacked the front up and the front wheel spun but not freely whats when I noticed the sound coming from the front caliper... While inspecting all this I noticed a small pool of fork oil under the front right leg.. So ordered new fork seals and I already have 2 liters of Motul fork oil in my garage... @kiffsta do you want me to do a "How to" thread on the for seal replacement?
I was riding through the national park again. Just my luck that the battery would die today. Sunday, so no shops are open. It's also late, so if any WERE open, they're closed now... and it's raining. I'm loathe to go put the multimeter to the battery in the wet...
Making progress on pulling the Zeal down today. Would it be worth my time, money and effort to replace my engine internals with fzr250 internals? Would things like the cam chain for the zeal be the same as the fizzers?
Come on Linkin, toughen up. Put a rain coat on and get out there. It is only 12 voltDC, it will still work under water, and anyway the battery is flat = no volts/amps.
Nothing, for two reasons: 1) My car got reversed into at the servo this morning by a young fool in a 4X4 Hilux who didn't check his blind spot, so it's probably a write-off. 2) I spent most of the afternoon following up on item 1.
Yeah it seems so. Will be dealing with his dad most likely. Already filed the crash report online and will be getting damage assessed. As it's an old Starlet I'm not likely to get much from insurance so he may settle for cash. He's also offered another car as a replacement but it's a Ford Laser so not keen on the idea after consideration unless it's a lot newer. Starlets were great cars for their time and this one was a little trooper!
