I drooled for half an hour then I left them to talk $$$ , I have no idea if he bought it or not ... .. hope he did

They tend to go for a few bucks. This sale is from 2019, so not sure how it compares to 2021 prices.

In the internet age, with the internet rule, which is, pics or it didn't happen, you forgot the selfie, you must have been truly mesmerised

Now if you're mate bought it, I'd be getting onto that selfie right now, just sayin'

@Frankster the seller is chasing $70k.

@ruckusman it was truly a work of art , I have never seen one in the flesh and yes I was taken a back. This one was a lovely example with just 20000 on the clock , all
Original except for the cdi which had failed and the rear wheel was a Marvin magnesium tri spoke , but the oem wheel is also supplied. Even the rear stand was there , only thing missing was the tool roll

My mate who was thinking of buying it , has a nice nc30 which I fixed up for him after an unfortunate accident after a 4x4 pulled out in front on him , how cool
Would it be to have the pair ?

I can still remember ogling the RC45 in motorcycle mags - you actually got to meet on in the flesh - having both would be an absolute must

Distinguished Gentleman's Ride washed out here in Exeter, UK... :-(
But a few hardy souls turned up on 'bikes, mostly modern, and a few more folks in cages, looking round Bridge Motorcycles showroom (start point for the ride).
What a shame. It's still blowing a gale and hissing down even worse...

Why does the CRF 50 look like it has a number plate?...

Depends what it is they're redoing. I've already found substitutes for head and rod bolts for the engine I have here.
Valves would be nice. I'm sorting through the heap of used ones with the motor to find the best.
I'm also going to have to source alternative valve springs as this one has what seem to be VFR springs - with racekit cams.
    Not a good combination.
When some of the outsourced machining comes back to me I might post some pics.
The bike is wanted for the next Phillip Island - if it goes ahead.

Edit - Looking at the pics of the DG ride, someone has actually bought a new Brough Superior !!!

Time to get the urban tiger running again, last time it was used was the drake ride and @Frankster had diagnosed it having a low compression motor , so today a replacement with awesome comp was fitted , I will get her running tomorrow then I think it is time to offload her , she deserves to be ridden and I won’t want to turn it into a track bike.

Slapped the cams back into the ye ole restricted head, put the valve cover back on, ziptied the headgasket to it, put it on the shelf for hopefully never needed spare part(s). Spent way too much time "detailing" inside/outside of the oil pan and associated parts. Pulled/bagged case locator pins and pulled the side cover pins that were still stuck in the case halfs. I am so glad these are not split pins! Long hollow pin fell out of one of the sides, goes in around the water pump. Thought those suckers were cast in so was a little surprised. Need to pull that from the 'donor' motor and bag it before it drops out at some random point and fucks off into oblivion to never be seen again. Still pondering how I'm going to stash 'all the things' while I wait on more parts to arrive, 'a pile on the healing bench' just isn't going to work out.

Put the new build on it's wheels for the first time - with the aid of a neighbour. Yes, it's a 250 so will be posted here in due course. Classic race bike of course.
Pleasantly surprised to find I've got it pretty well right as far as ride height goes. Always a gamble with shocks and forks from different eras. Still just at mockup stage, plenty of bits to add to the frame yet.
Now cardboard patterns for seat base and oil tank to do. Seat base will be alloy sheet folded and rivetted then upholstered - minimally. Tank will be in 16G mild steel. Fuel tank - when I get round to it - will be alloy.

    Shiny!

I think I'd like a shiny new (looking) bike, but then I remember I just wouldn't keep it clean...

Gasket material removal. Paper gasket removal seems to be one of the most painful part of this process.

I think threebond make a gasket remover, but don't get it on you, and you might need to apply half a dozen times and leave overnight in a plastic bag. When it does is thing, the gasket lifts right off. NBC 110 cylinder base gaskets get baked on pretty hard...
