frank, i think with the iridiums you will that you can go into the redline deeper without any missing in the ignition. i reckon 1500 revs?

Thanks Risky. I normally change at 18,000rpm and it gets there cleanly. I'm more concerned with the plugs fouling on the line or during startup.

IMG_6670.JPG So finished up all the drainplugs, hondabonding the cases back on the Ducati, replacing the clutch shaft o-rings, the clutch slave seals, and refilled it with the fancy glowing oil. Got it off the lift and took it for a ride. Damn I love that bike. Most of the leaks seem cured, too!

Replaced the clutch in the ZXR, and booked the dyno time for next weekend. Didn't get to take it for a ride, but damn- love that bike too!

Two bikes down, what's next? It was time to get the XS on the lift, get the battery out and get it on a charger! For a weekend I didn't do much- I sure got a lot done!

she looks an interesting beast with girder forks, just remember when you are out on a ride that these old girls don't corner like the sports bikes. I remember my first Harley ride.... I was like WTF, it doesn't go around corners

If the girders didn't tell me that, the terrible tires would have. :)

For 700 bucks tho, it seems like it'll be a fun project to finish, no matter how terrible it rides.

Put a little bit of bling on the ZXR. Just some orange rim tape from third gear and 4 small orange ninja stickers off ebay, but it goes a long way.

It took a few weeks, but I have moved in!

Double-decker quad bikes, golf buggy beside them, fzr, gsxf, scooter, WR250F to go on the raised workbench and still room for the DR350. Just need some lights, a workbench, move the last bikes and clean up. Cleaning the shed will take a while, but we should end up with a couple of functional toolboxes, for a few days until we scatter them to the various jobs again... Sigh.

Worked on the Triumph Sprint today. Worked out that the middle cylinder is mis-firing, and worse when hot.... Checked Valve clearances (after trying new plugs, and replacing middle coil)... middle cylinder intakes are out of spec... a couple of others close to the edge, so will need to do the valve-shim shuffle........ I'm getting a special tool so need to wait for that... Probably will ride the Fizzer to Drake, which is fine....

Pulled the forks out to change oil...after reassembly notice one of the clipons was pointing to a slightly different position than the other..Bugga! its bent and no bike shop in the area has em anymore...fleabay to the rescue...so thought Id do engine oil change and might as well as check/clean the wire screen under the clutch cover...should have left it alone ;) starter idler gear shaft came out with the cover, gear and bearing dropped down behind the clutch basket DOH! all sorted and the gasket mostly came away cleanly.....Its Easter so now the extended wait for postie to arrive with clipons.........
