Small-bore sportbikes like KTM’s new RC390 and Yamaha’s R3 are making a big splash, and tire manufacturers are taking notice. Michelin, Bridgestone, and Shinko have all recently released rubber in 110 front section widths and 140 and 150 rear section widths suitable for small-displacement sportbikes. That’s adding to existing options from Pirelli and IRC, which means consumers now have lots of tires to choose from. In this special off-site episode of MC Garage , Road Test Editor Ari Henning will evaluate the sporting capabilities of Michelin Pilot Street Radials, Bridgestone S20 Evos, Shinko SR 880/881s, Pirelli Diablo Rosso IIs, and IRC Road Winners so that you can make a more informed purchasing decision when it comes time to replace your tires
If you find them within $100 of the price I get Pirellis for let ME know and i'll pull the trigger, I know Bridgestones are the best, but **** i didn't realise they were gold plated. $450 delivered is best i can find so far, DR2's are $330. I fit my own.
I'm running conti sp2 atm good grip but think the corsa gonna be a better tyre I'm finding the sp is sliding a bit and well these things can't let them spin will lose time
Got my set of S20 Evo's in the Correct 250/300 sizes of 110/70-17 & 140/70-17 BT003 no longer available, superseded by S20. Will fit them at the tight Collie circuit on September 20th, expecting good things from these. I'll put them on the 5000 gram scales and post results along with all the other types ive measured.
I have tried using Avon Ultra SS sizes are 120/70 R 17 and 150/70 R17. I would say I'm pretty impress with the performance and styling and price isn't that much. Bought it from 4 Wheel Online.
I only have 2.75 fronts and 4.0 rears., like most other 250/300's. No point fittng the wrong sizes unless sponsored by anyone other than the two leading brands.
