I suggest a rolling resto as you can still enjoy riding the bike while it is summer over there. Maybe get a bit more serious when winter comes.

depending on the condition of the bike i'd say a rolling resto!

with he parts needed have a look over in Australia, the shipping will be the worst but take advantage of the strong pound. also have a look on ebay Ireland....they were imported a lot over there.

Good work mate! Brand new rear subframe??? Or reconditioned? I shudder to think of the cost.

Going to save you a lot of trouble here... use these 2 sites for getting OEM parts. Not an issue if the part is in stock, and you have a well paying job!

    www.cmsnl.com

    www.jp-parts.com

But you will need the part numbers. The parts book is available with diagrams and part numbers in the resources section. Donate a few quid to the site and you can get access to any manuals we have.

Also, you will need to identify your engine, frame, and carbs.

When the bike is running you will want to check for noises. This is what my noisy cam chain sounded like

the subframe was nos came with my spares purchase last year , the small brackets front bracket are out of my spares bike just back from powder coaters so theres not much by way of spares i need now just a case of time and a tin of elbow grease ,and eventually a full respray on the plastics next year as im planning back to stock except for the front master cylinder upgraded and fab the decals myself if i get that far hence im gonna turn deaf once the misses finds out :thumb_ups:

once this new job is underway ill put some money in the kitty how much is the pound worth down there these days lol

1 Aussie dollar is about 0.488 pounds right now.

Mine had a bad head gasket due to dodgyness... I got the base and head gaskets as new old stock, valve cover gasket too. Up next is piston rings... about $250 AUD from Japan. In pieces at the moment but nearing completion... on the home stretch now. Then I have another one to strip down, sandblast, repaint & assemble.
